It’s no secret that Cambridge is a city well-adapted to its student population, so by taking HLI’s home tuition programme you will find yourself making connections with both domestic and international students in your free time, and exploring the diverse entertainment options and the impressive architecture, such as Great St Mary’s Church, or the Bridge of Sighs.

Included in your fees you will receive three meals from your host family per day, with breakfast normally being enjoyed on your own time, while the other meals are generally attempted to be enjoyed together just to socialise. As a plus, this is also additional English practice for you, so take advantage of every opportunity you can get.

There is something for everyone in Cambridge, and your host family will help you find it depending on your interests. Your goals and interests will also determine the focus of your lessons, meaning that the experience will be entirely customised to suit you.
With this programme, you will be completely immersed in the target language and culture. The private lessons will take place at the teacher’s home and are tailored to your needs and interests. The programme also includes accommodation in a private bedroom (Sunday to Sunday) and 3 meals per day with the teacher’s family.
You can customise your stay by booking additional lessons, activities, courses for specific purposes, private bathroom, accommodation of superior standard, airport transfer and close supervision for young students.

There are few places we associate more with academic learning than Cambridge, and the General English course from EC English only contributes to that. When you’re not busy enjoying this historic university town’s architecture and scenery, you’ll be taking 20 classes per week (for a total of 15 hours.)

The course uses the tried and tested approach of working on the four pillars of language skills: Reading, Speaking, Writing and Listening. You’ll make friends from different parts of the world as soon as you start, giving you language practice partners to spend time with outside of class time in this charming English city.

The class sizes have an average of 10 participants, and a maximum of 15. This setting will put you in a dynamic environment where you'll meet many new people to speak and improve your English with.

This General English course of 20 lessons per week will help students to develop all of the main English skills. The material is diverse and tries to cover every aspect of learning English, including reading, writing, listening, conversation, grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation.

Kaplan Cambridge is situated in a stunning Edwardian building in the serene Newnham neighbourhood, less than a 10-minute bike ride to the city centre. If you ever want to take a weekend adventure, the school is 50 minutes from London, with trips organised by Kaplan to destinations such as Edinburgh, Amsterdam, Brighton, and Paris.

By taking the Basic Course from EF, you’ll work on preparing yourself for handling everyday situations, like ordering food at a restaurant or going through an airport. In this sense, the course is focused on getting the student to a point where they understand the fundamentals of the language.

There are just 20 lessons per week (40 minutes each), which leaves you with ample time for exploring Cambridge and everything it has to offer. 16 of these classes are General, 2 are project-based research sessions, and 2 are lecture sessions.

This could be the ideal course for those students who perhaps can’t take a full-time course, but would love to make a start on or refresh their English skills.
