Location: Centre of English Studies (CES) Dublin is located in the vibrant and friendly city of Dublin, Ireland. The school is housed between 3 centrally located buildings, all within walking distance of pubs, restaurants, supermarkets, shops and many of Dublin's main attractions. Several museums such as the National Museum of Ireland, Dublinia and the National Gallery of Ireland are only moments away, with Stephen's Green Park, St. Patrick's Cathedral and the city's infamous Temple Bar, all just a short walk from the school's front doors. Students have a great number of activities and attractions to create many memorable moments. Students of all ages are sure to have a fantastic time in the city and surrounding areas whilst reaching their language goals with CES Dublin.
Course selection: Course selection offers something for junior and adult students of all levels. In addition to General English tuition over various schedules and intensities, CES Dublin also offers Exam Preparation (IELTS, FCE, CAE), University Pathway, Business English, and English in conjunction with a work placement (unpaid). Throughout the summer months, immersive junior programmes are available as well as Teacher Training and CELTA courses.
School facilities: The school's facilities include everything a student may need to reach their language and learning goals from a vibrant and motivating environment. Facilities include a library, computer lab, free after-class access to language learning software, a cafeteria, a games room, lounge area, rooftop terrace and a student support desk for any questions or queries that may arise. All classrooms are equipped with heating and ample natural light to create an optimal learning environment.
Accommodation: Accommodation is readily available through the school, in Homestay and Residence facilities.
School chain: Centre of English Studies (CES) has over 40 years of experience delivering top-quality tuition and student care to students from all over the world. They have many schools and locations within their group, offering courses to adults and junior students in England, Scotland, Ireland, Canada and Taiwan.
CES is recognised and accredited by the British Council in the UK and ACELS (the Irish Department of Education) in Ireland. CES Ireland is also a founding member of Marketing English in Ireland (MEI).
Many of the CES schools are members of several international teaching associations such as EAQUALS and EnglishUK, with several also official IELTS or PEARSON Test Centres.

The Standard General English course is the most in-demand course that CES offers their students, mainly due to offering an ideal weekly commitment of 20 hours of lessons that guarantees participants’ steady progression over the weeks and months - all without taking up too much of your time. Each lesson lasts for 55 minutes at their Dublin location, which is the longest that CES provides.
You can expect your morning classes to be delivered by two different teachers. Grammar and accuracy are usually worked on separately from their more conversation-oriented lessons, as their priority is to make sure that students are able to use grammar structures accurately before putting them to use.
There are a total of 7 level groups that you may be assigned to, ranging from Beginner all the way up to Proficiency.

This course consists of 26 lessons per week designed to pass the First Certificate in English Exam. Practice exams and guidance from a tutor is included in the package.

Centre of English Studies (CES) is an examination centre for Cambridge Advanced Certificate.
This course consists of 26 lessons per week designed to pass the Certificate in Advanced English Exam. Practice exams and guidance from a tutor is included in the package.
The morning classes take place from Monday to Friday. The afternoon lessons are from Tuesday to Thursday and focus on CAE preparation.

I joined for two and a half months but from my point of view a month of preparation is enough and progresses, because after a while it began to be repetitive, and the last few weeks were getting really heavy and I was thinking of having thrown away money unnecessarily . Personally, therefore, I was a bit disappointed by the afternoon course, also because during the exam I also found things that I did not know, so the preparation course was not even completely useful, but in any case without the preparation course I would not have been absolutely able to take the exam. In conclusion: I recommend it undoubtedly, but not for too long. A month is enough, after it begins to be a huge waste of money and a waste of time.”

CES has 3 year-round adult centres in the heart of Dublin city: Dame Street, Dame Court, Coppinger Row.
Individual classes
Single individual lessons of tuition can be reserved at 80 €. The combination of group and individual lessons is highly recommended. Individual lessons will encourage you to actively speak the foreign language and will offer you the opportunity to discuss individual problems and weaknesses.

"I would have liked to have some kind of voluntary food drop-off. If you're not there for long, it's often not worth buying a whole pack of food. So a place where you can get food for free or for a small "pocket money" price (but kept really small), the money then goes to the people who make sure to check the expiry date once a week. You can only give the food away there and not sell it. However, I think young students in particular, who perhaps also work part-time, would be happy to receive a packet of pasta at a low price if another student has given it away. It's a lot of trust involved, but I think it would help with some things. Just like the kitchen equipment, I would have liked the scales and towels to be available so that you don't have to take care of them yourself. Otherwise the house itself was really good :)

"The rooms were unfortunately not really clean on arrival. Dusty shelves etc., there was still a sock from the previous guest on the shelf and there was foreign hair everywhere (especially in the bed, but also on the floor, in the shower etc.). Very distasteful. The insulation was relatively good, so you hardly heard anything in the room from the noise in the kitchen (where the other students often drank together late at night etc.). Only conversations in the corridor outside the rooms were clearly audible. However, these were within reasonable limits."
