The General English course from CCEL is for those students who want to improve their English language skills across the board, ranging from grammar to conversation, and everything in between. In your 23 weekly lessons, you will work on all the traditional pillars of second language study, and in this way develop all of your areas of knowledge in tandem.

Worldwide School of English offers their General English course on a 20-lesson per week basis and is suitable for a wide range of people in different situations - including those who are involved in academics, or who are trying to improve their English for their work life.

There are 8 possible levels that you might be assigned to after your initial placement test, however, at each level the foundation of the lessons remains largely the same: a strong focus on grammar, vocabulary, reading, and writing. Students will also spend a significant amount of time in speaking activities, to refine this all-important skill.

Of course, watersports such as surfing are a local favourite. Whatever you like to do with your free time, your host family will be happy to help you find what you’re looking for during your stay in Christchurch.

All meals are provided by the host, as this is a full board experience. If you need support for any reason regarding your course or accommodation, HLI asks guests to contact their Local Organiser staff located in the city.
With this programme, you will be completely immersed in the target language and culture. The private lessons will take place at the teacher’s home and are tailored to your needs and interests. The programme also includes accommodation in a private bedroom (Sunday to Sunday) and 3 meals per day with the teacher’s family.
You can customise your stay by booking additional lessons, activities, courses for specific purposes, private bathroom, accommodation of superior standard, airport transfer and close supervision for young students.
