Venue: Frances King School of English is a summer centre in the coastal village of Dalkey, on the outskirts of Dublin, southeast of the city. One of the most affluent areas of Dublin, Dalkey is popular among sea enthusiasts who enjoy swimming at Vico Bathing Place and Whiterock Beach. The waters just off shore, in Dalkey Sound and around the outlying islands, are a favourite spot for scuba divers.

Programmes: The school offers programmes for teens, families with children, and adults. Morning English classes are followed by activities and can be booked with or without accommodation. The English classes on these programmes have a strong focus on verbal communication. Activities can include sports, Irish dancing classes, and cultural activities during the week, and a full-day excursion at the weekend.

Getting there: Dalkey is very well connected to Dublin. The DART train, which is about a ten minutes’ walk from the school, takes 40 minutes to reach the city. Dublin Airport (DUB) is north, beyond the city, about 24 kilometers away from the school. It takes about 50 minutes to travel there by car. There are several options for public transport, many take you to Dublin where you would switch to the DART train or a different coach, but there is also a coach service direct from the airport with a stop in Dalkey which runs several times per day.
