What we like about the school
- ISI monitoring inspection: Grade 1, the highest grade possible in all areas.

What we dislike about the school
- Do not offer favourable terms in the case of requesting a cancellation or refund.
- Lessons are 45 minutes long, which is shorter than in other schools.
Location: ILC - International Language Centres Colchester is located in the ancient town of Colchester in southeast England. Housed in a tranquil residential area on the outskirts of the town centre, ILC Colchester has many amenities within easy reach. The school is also close to several retail outlets and the historic town centre of Colchester.
Course selection: The school offers various programmes suitable for adults of all levels and intensities. In addition to General English, ILC Colchester provides Business English, Medical English, English & Culture, English & Work Experience, Exam preparation (IELTS, Cambridge) and many professional learning programmes for teachers, medical professionals and more.
Junior Programmes: The Colchester Summer Centre is also available to Junior students aged 11-17 years during the summer months. These programmes are all-inclusive of English tuition, full board accommodation (homestay), activities and excursions.
Getting around: ILC Colchester is within an hour's train of London.
Accommodation: Accommodation provided by the school includes Homestay accommodation with various meal plans. Both single and double rooms (2 travellers travelling together) are available throughout the year.
School chain: ILC International Language Centres has locations and schools throughout England in Birmingham, Cambridge, Bristol, Colchester, Southampton and Portsmouth. The group is a result of merging acquired schools previously of TEG, ABC and the Colchester English Study Centre.
Associations: ILC International Language Centres are associated with and accredited by Bildungsurlaud, British Council, English UK and Trinity College London.

The Main Course delivered by ILC endeavours to improve the general English language skills of all of its participants. You will level up your English through 20 classes every week, all taking place on a morning schedule, no matter what your current ability might be. The school describes this course as practical, meaning that any and all theory will be accompanied by a focus on communication skills, such as listening and speaking - to ensure that the students are truly learning how to use the language.
A course book is used throughout the programme, in order to provide a structured curriculum. This will be supplemented by a diverse range of materials and activities from your experienced and qualified teachers at ILC. As this course is general in its scope, it’s suitable for many kinds of people, including university students or those looking to improve their professional lives.

Single individual lessons of tuition can be reserved at 50 £. The combination of group and individual lessons is highly recommended. Individual lessons will encourage you to actively speak the foreign language and will offer you the opportunity to discuss individual problems and weaknesses.
