The average age outside summer is 4 years higher than in summer.
Location: Twin School is north of the River Liffey in Dublin, close to the city centre. Around the school are museums, parks, restaurants, cafes and stores. It is a 10-minute walk from the school to the ILAC Shopping Centre.
Getting around: The Parnell Tram Stop is 4-minute walk from the school. This station has the green line running through it, which reaches the other side of the river in 6 minutes. There are lots of bus services that have stops close to the school building. The Connolly Train Station is 15 minutes by foot from Twin School. It is also a tram station on the red line.
Main attractions: Phoenix Park is to the west of Twin School, about 15 minute by bus from the school. Across the river, is the Temple Bar neighbourhood, a lively area with lots of bars, music venues and pubs. This is a 20-minute journey by tram or bus. Kilmainham Gaol is 37 minutes by public transportation from the school.
Course structure: The school offers a number of general English courses in a range of intensities, IELTS exam preparation courses, English courses to further your career, internships and lessons that can improve your communication skills.
Junior Packages: Twin School has a summer camp for young learners. These are available as a package with English lessons, activities and accommodation in a residence or homestay.

The General English course focuses on all of the skills necessary when learning a second language, which include: Speaking and listening, pronunciation, Reading and Writing, and Grammar and Vocabulary.
Students are able to participate for as little as 1 week, and up to a maximum of 24 weeks. The total number of lessons per week is 25, and is always on a morning schedule.
All learners enrolled on their English courses will have access to the e-platform, where you will find a wealth of learning materials to supplement your lessons.

"The course consisted of a very small group! The teachers answered all of our questions and paid a lot of attention. Unfortunately my Monday started at lesson 12 ... the topic was festival - uninteresting for me ..."
Special note for 2025 holiday season: If you plan to take a course during the high season months of April, June, July or August 2025 we urgently advise you to book as early as possible. In 2024 many schools were fully booked during the holidays and the situation is unlikely to be different for 2025 due to a current shortage of teachers, which affects most schools.

“I liked the attitude of the staff and teachers most of all. Everyone is very friendly and nice. Always ready to help and explain, so that you do not feel uncomfortable.
The teachers are very qualified. The classes are conducted according to the program, but at the same time they often discuss some pressing issue, which involves all the students and at the same time you get something new. Everything happens in a seemingly relaxed and friendly atmosphere, but at the same time all the lessons are intense.”
Insider tip: “Next time, I would indicate that the host family should consist of no more than two people. I lived in a house for 6 people (including me) and there was one bathroom, which is inconvenient.
I also didn't eat often at home, because I often attended excursions, and I walked in the evenings. Ie I did not use full boarding on weekends even once within 3 weeks, but I'd paid for it. ”

"I start by saying that we paid for full board on weekends, paying 15 euro each for lunch per weekend and we just received a skimpy sandwich with an apple and a little package of chips. For dinner, they gave us normal food but not enough proportioned to the amount we paid.
Moreover, many times I asked for napkins after breakfast (we did not have one) and I was told that they hadn't and I should have bought my owns.
The bathroom was crooked and very small and every time I was at the toilet I had to lean backwards, having back pain.
Furthermore, we have been checked every time we were out of our room because being suspected of being thieves (this is just my opinion).
The last day of our stay, which we paid utterly, at 14.00 we have been "nicely" accompanied out because they had to host other students.
I do not advise this family to anyone.
