Location: EF International Language Center Manchester is located in the industrial and vibrant city of Manchester, England. The school is housed in a fantastic stately Victorian building, right in the heart of the student hot spot of the Fallowfield area. Surrounding EF Manchester there are parks, universities, shops, eateries and much entertainment, ensuring a student's time inside and outside of the classroom is both exciting and informative. A short 30-minute journey from the city centre, students of the school are in an excellent position, 5km outside of the city centre, to enjoy Manchester and all it has to offer. The Manchester International airport is around a 60-minute journey from the school via public transport.

School facilities: The school's facilities are exemplary, offering students' all they may need to reach their language goals in a comfortable environment. Classrooms have state-of-the-art technology, are spacious, and have excellent lighting, offering fantastic opportunities for student engagement. Facilities include a cafeteria, a games room, a garden and a variety of games tables. The school also has a patio and bbq area and excellent links to public transport. All classrooms are equipped with air conditioning, heating and have ample natural light to ensure an optimal learning environment for all.

Accommodation: Accommodation is readily available through the school in Homestay, Residence or local Hotel facilities.

Generally course material has to be purchased by the student. The costs of course material will be approximately 55 € per course level.
Comments about courses

The cost of course materials vary depending on the duration of the course:

  • Course literature (for English destinations) for bookings 1-6 weeks long: 55 EUR
  • Course literature (for English destinations) for bookings 7-12 weeks long: 95 EUR
  • Course literature (for non-English destinations) for bookings 1-9 weeks long: 80 EUR
  • Course literature (for non- English destinations) for bookings 10-18 weeks long: 145 EUR

    Cancellation Protection fee: EUR 85 (Non-refundable).

    Students must book a travel insurance, which covers the whole period of the course and stay in Manchester. Students can book Erika Insurance Coverage via the school:
  • Two weeks: EUR 85.
  • Per additional extra week: EUR 40.
    Students can have another insurance but they must prove they have booked another one.

    Accommodation:
  • The twin room homestay included in the tuition price can be upgraded to a single room homestay for EUR 55 per week.
  • Homestays are no further than 45 minutes by public transportation from school.
  • Residence accommodation is also available upon request and subject to availability.
Individual classes
Single individual lessons of tuition can be reserved at 120 €. The combination of group and individual lessons is highly recommended. Individual lessons will encourage you to actively speak the foreign language and will offer you the opportunity to discuss individual problems and weaknesses.

If a bank holiday falls on a weekday there is no refund nor are missed lessons recuperated. This is the case for the majority of language schools.

A test to assess your exact language level takes place before the start of the course via an online form.

Visa Documents

Nationals from Germany do not require a visa to study short term courses up to 180 days. A valid passport and an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) is required to enter the UK. The application for the ETA is done online https://www.gov.uk/guidance/apply-for-an-electronic-travel-authorisation-eta. The answer is expected within 3 working days, costing GBP 10. The ETA allows multiple entries in the country for up to 6 months for a maximum of 2 years or until the passport used when applying expires.
Check visa requirements for nationals from other countries.
Nationals from countries that require a visa will receive documents from the school, related to booking confirmation, which is required for the visa application.
