Q&A - Questions about English courses and schools in Canada

  • Not at all! As for your age, I assure you it is not an impediment. The schools receive students of all ages and I firmly believe that it is never too late to learn something new. To give you an idea, the average age of students is around 25.

Regarding the visa, although we do not directly manage the visa process, the school you choose in Canada will provide you with all the necessary documentation once you have completed the full payment of your booking. This documentation will help you to apply for your student visa.
    Rubén De Haro, LanguageCourse.Net - Jul 19, 2024
  • The courses usually do not have an exam at the end. There are special exam preparation courses where via the schools
you can then register for exams. However, the schools usually issue a certificate of attendance with the level achieved in the course.
    Martin Zakostelecky, LanguageCourse.Net - Apr 12, 2024
  • If you want to stay in Canada for more than 6 months, you will need to obtain a Study Permit.
Contact the Canadian Embassy in your home country for more information.
    Rubén De Haro, LanguageCourse.Net - Apr 25, 2023
  • At present (2023) we do not work with any school in Canada that accepts such young students.
    Rubén De Haro, LanguageCourse.Net - Apr 18, 2023
  • We can help you with the booking of your course or course + accommodation, but for everything related to the possibility of being able to work during your stay and/or visas, it is better to contact the embassy, as we do not take care of this.
    Rubén De Haro, LanguageCourse.Net - Apr 14, 2023
  • In general language schools offer programmes for juniors (under 18) and adults (18+ or 16+).
While we do not partner with schools that offer student-only programmes at this time, we can recommend schools where the average age of students is low which means you have a better chance of meeting students of similar age there.
    Gosia Mazur, LanguageCourse.Net - Apr 07, 2023
  • At the moment, our partner schools do not offer this type of course. In Canada, adults can combine learning English with volunteering, art, photography or cooking.
    Gosia Mazur, LanguageCourse.Net - Apr 03, 2023
  • If you are asking whether flights can be purchased through us, the answer is no. What we can do is arrange an airport pick-up through the school.
This can be requested directly on our registration form, or at a later date by providing your arrival flight details well in advance. This is always the safest option, as you will be taken from the airport of arrival to the door of your assigned accommodation. The price of such a service is usually higher than a taxi, as a driver has to drive to the airport and wait for you in the arrivals terminal until you arrive.
    Rubén De Haro, LanguageCourse.Net - Mar 30, 2023
  • On our website you can consult the profiles of the different schools we work with in Canada and get as many quotes as you like.

The regulations for obtaining a visa are quite delicate and change constantly, so it is best to always contact the embassy or consulate of the country you are going to visit in your home country.

    Rubén De Haro, LanguageCourse.Net - Mar 16, 2023
  • You can book as many weeks as you like, but please note that all fees must be paid before the course starts. Once your course has started, you can extend and pay as you book additional weeks, as long as the school has availability.
    Rubén De Haro, LanguageCourse.Net - Feb 17, 2023
  • The duration of the course is from one week to 51 weeks, according to your preference.
    Sawsan Zein, LanguageCourse.Net - Feb 10, 2023
  • Yes, you can choose the course type "Children and Teenager English Camps" at the top of the page.
All the courses for juniors will be displayed on this page.
You can choose the appropriate course for your child according to the appropriate age range indicated by the course name.
    Susan Wang, LanguageCourse.Net - Nov 24, 2022
  • The minimum required age to book residential accommodation is 18 years old. Students under 18 can book homestay accommodation.
    Ana Carolina Dos Santos, LanguageCourse.Net - Nov 17, 2022
  • Mexican citizens, among other nationalities, have the benefit of obtaining a pre-approved Visitor status for 6 months. The rest of the nationalities, all need to process a student visa (Study Permit), regardless of how long they are going to be in Canada.
If your idea is to be in Canada for only one month, you only need to obtain the eTA. With a valid eTA, you can travel to Canada as often as you want for short stays (normally for up to six months at a time).
An eTA doesn’t guarantee entry to Canada. When you arrive, a border services officer will ask to see your passport and other documents. You must convince the officer that you are eligible for entry into Canada.
    Rubén De Haro, LanguageCourse.Net - Mar 07, 2022

FAQ - Frequently asked questions about English courses in Canada

  • Most language schools abroad only work with teenagers and older children. Only a few schools are authorised to work with younger children. We recommend that clients do not send children under 8 to language programmes without knowing a foreign language or being able to stay without parents in an unfamiliar environment. There are special programmes for children and their parents. The school is responsible for the child while the programme is running. The child must follow the school's rules. The school is not responsible for the child's actions during free time. The insurance company is also liable within its limits. Spectrum will monitor these organisations and help resolve any problems.
Maksym Sterpul, Language Travel Consultant from LanguageCourse.Net - Jul 04, 2024
  • Travel and medical insurance is not included, but our agents can recommend options and sometimes the schools themselves have very affordable insurance plans for students. Please contact us for more information.
Veronica Romualdi, Language Travel Consultant from LanguageCourse.Net - Feb 07, 2024
  • Yes. To do this, you need to send us your organisation's details.
Maksym Sterpul, Language Travel Consultant from LanguageCourse.Net - Dec 14, 2023
  • You're not obligated to book accommodation with the school, so you can just sign up for a course.
Mindlere Shin, Language Travel Consultant from LanguageCourse.Net - Sep 11, 2023
  • Sure! There are a number of options for online tuition and day programmes available for Junior students in Canada. Please use our search or contact one of our agents for assistance.
    Fraser Provan , Area Manager English from LanguageCourse.net - Aug 05, 2022
  • Normally, it is recommended to book about 2 or 3 months in advance, especially if you have to apply for a visa.

Visa regulations are rather delicate and they can change very quickly, so your best bet is to always contact the embassy or consulate directly in your home country.
Rubén De Haro, Area Manager - Spanish from LanguageCourse.net - Jun 16, 2022
  • Full payment of the booking is divided in two. The first payment, which is paid at the time of making the online booking, it corresponds to 30-35% of the total value of the reservation, and is charged as soon as your place is confirmed. The second and last payment is paid to the school. Regardless of the school you choose, most of them require that 2 or 3 weeks before the starting date everything is already paid.
Rubén De Haro, Area Manager - Spanish from LanguageCourse.Net - Apr 22, 2022
  • If you are planning to study in Canada you need to apply for an eTA or a study permit. It's not possible to enter Canada holding a USA visa.
Ana Carolina, Area Manager from LanguageCourse.net - Dec 27, 2021
  • Yes, you can book homestay accommodation just for the first weeks of your English programme, and move to a new place later.
If you choose to extend your stay with a host family, the school will be happy to organize it for you, but please note that there is no guarantee that you will stay with the same family if it's not booked in advance.
Ana Carolina Dos Santos, Area Manager from LanguageCourse.net - Nov 08, 2021
