The objective of this course is to prepare students for the proficiency certificate exam for Portuguese as a second language, in Brazil. The exam was created by the Brazilian Ministry of Education and Culture (MEC), in cooperation with the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE). It is internationally recognised, and evaluates speaking and writing ability, in various situations of daily life.
The student must have a minimum level of Intermediate II to be able to start the preparatory course. The course takes a minimum of 2 weeks and a maximum of 4 weeks to complete. The levels of classification in the exam are the following:
- Intermediate
- Upper Intermediate
- Advanced
- Upper Advanced
Lessons per week: 20 (50 minutes per lesson)

Required minimum language level: Beginner (A1) (No previous knowledge required) or higher
