45 English General Courses for adults in South Africa

The course takes place on 2 afternoons per week from Monday to Thursday. Friday afternoon is off.

The Intensive course is designed for students who want to improve their level of English in a short period of time but with a high intensity of 22.5 hours of lessons per week. All areas of the language are considered in the planning and the teaching method is very much steered towards a student-focused approach. It is recommended to supplement with a course such as Pronunciation English or Business Plus to steer your new skills towards an area which is suited to your specific needs.

In LAL’s General English lessons, you can expect the course content to be based on the content outlined by the course book that the students follow - and this will be complemented by a range of interactive and dynamic activities organised by your teacher. You will work on the fundamental skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking.

The school puts a particular emphasis on communication skills, so you should get ready to participate verbally in these classes in order to maximise your development. There are 20 lessons every week, with each session lasting for 45 minutes.

You will progress rapidly on a schedule of 20 classes per week - not to mention regular homework that your professional teachers will issue you 3 to 4 times every week.
