Attached to New Brunswick, on the tip of the South East point of Canada, is the small province of Nova Scotia. Its name is derived from the Latin for New Scotland. Cape Breton Highlands National Park, Kejimkujik National Park and National Historic Site and the Cabot Trail are excellent places to explore the natural beauty of the region. The provincial capital is Halifax, almost exactly in the centre of the region with it's coast on the Atlantic Ocean. The Halifax Citadel National Historic Site, the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic and the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia are amongst the most popular attractions to visit in this coastal city.
