Location: The school is located in North Oxford, close to Port Meadow and sandwiched between the River Thames and the River Cherwell. It is within easy walking distance of the city centre and surrounded by places of cultural and natural interest. University colleges are scattered throughout the neighbourhood, and there are bars and restaurants nearby.

Getting around Oxford: The main hub of Oxford is 20 minutes by foot from the school, or a 10 minute bus ride. The buses leave regularly for this route. Oxford city centre is easily walkable, with most of the commercial shops, supermarkets, city activities and historical monuments all within this quarter of the city. The main central train station is 20 minutes by bus from The Oxford English Centre for travelling to nearby cities. There is a direct line to London which takes an hour.

Course selection: The school provides popular General English courses along with a wide variety of Specialist English courses. As a popular destination for individual and group study, it offers social activities every day of the week as a part of the standard course, so it's easy to make friends of different nationalities in and out of the classroom.

School facilities: Students can use the following facilities whilst studying at The Oxford English Centre; a library, an IT lab, free wifi throughout the building, board games, garden and patio, foosball table, table tennis and a karaoke system.

Visa Documents

Nationals from Singapore do not require a visa to study short term courses up to 180 days. A valid passport and an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) is required to enter the UK. The application for the ETA is done online https://www.gov.uk/guidance/apply-for-an-electronic-travel-authorisation-eta. The answer is expected within 3 working days, costing GBP 10. The ETA allows multiple entries in the country for up to 6 months for a maximum of 2 years or until the passport used when applying expires.
