Location: Select English Cambridge is located in the historic English city of Cambridge, on the River Cam, in eastern England. The school is on Hills Road, where students have supermarkets, eateries and a direct route to Cambridge train station, within walking distance. Several of the city's attractions are also in the area, with the Cambridge University Botanic Garden and the Fitzwilliam Museum, both a moment's walk away. Students are well situated to be able to enjoy all that the city has to offer. Attractions such as Cambridge Market Square, the University Museum of Zoology, and several parks and spaces along the River Cam, are all within a 20-minute walk of the school.

Course selection: Select English Cambridge provides high-quality English tuition for students of all ages and levels. In addition to General English programmes taught over various schedules and intensities, the school gives numerous specific learning programmes. For adults, or students aged 16+, there are Exam Preparation courses (IELTS, FCE, CAE, CPE) and fully immersive residential summer programmes (age restrictions apply). For junior students, Select English Cambridge offers a range of immersive summer courses, with various options for accommodation in residence or homestay.

Getting around: The train to Central London is around 45 minutes from Cambridge train station and runs every 30 minutes, 7 days a week. The school is also close to bus routes and is very much within walking distance of many of the city's sites of interest.

“This branch school is small and you will get to know everyone from the administration to the teachers very well. The location is not too far from Cambridge station and is in the center of the city.”

“Nothing in particular. If I had to say only one thing, the office manager could have been a little more responsive to my e-mails during our pre-arrival correspondence. But after meeting her, I recognized that she was very friendly and wonderful, and provided me with lots of support!”
Insider tip: “Grammar terms are also taught in English (past perfect, etc.). Therefore, if you lightly review the grammar you learned at junior and senior high school in Japan, you may be able to understand the lessons faster and greatly improve your ability even during your short stay.”

Quality of teaching / language progress: The course is a very good blend of grammar and practice, and if you are serious about learning it, you will grow wonderfully. I could get used to English through practice and improve my score in IELTS and various other certification exams through grammar. You can study both. I learned a lot of things in this course, and it made me realize that I need to do both to improve my English skills.

Quality of teaching / language progress: as already mentioned, very unfortunate that I had lost a majority of 2 weeks because I was placed in the wrong level. I was also a bit annoyed because I had clearly written that I was a beginner. Afterwards, the remaining 3 weeks were very good.
