The most wonderful thing about the school is the professionalism of the teachers. I am specifically talking about my professor, Patricia Balazikova. Not only is she very professional but also a very kind and friendly type of person. Every day she never failed to not only teach us, but to also make the teaching fun and enjoyable. The professor also gives Literature once a week which had a really positive impact on my Education.
Insider tip: Just go every day and don't miss anything that is offered by the school, as it will certainly be a wonderful experience.

I took English and German courses. For me, my English lessons with Valeria were the best and had a great time. In general, the school pays attention to students and they are organized and have quick solutions if you have a question or problem. Also, Lots of culture together in the school. That was one of my favorite things.

Most of all I liked that my classes were taught by different teachers: I had an intensive course, with classes in the morning, afternoon, and evening. And there were different teachers each time. It makes the process of learning more diverse: each teacher has a different style, and this is a big plus.
Review details
Other comments I really liked the internal organization of the school. The school itself is large, and all the processes are well organized. There were no problems with any of my questions, and I always received answers and solutions. The staff is very caring and helpful.

Apart from the classes, it is interesting the offer of cultural or leisure activities. Some might not seem so interesting at first, but it worth participating to get to know people and the city during the first days.
Insider tip: It is important to prepare the level test beforehand because 30 test questions is not really enough to truly evaluate your level and you could end up in a level which is too easy for you Even if your German was rusty, in a couple of days you would be back to speed and it's a waste to be in a class where you are not learning anything. If this happens, make sure to request that they move you up.
Review details
Other comments The courses don't really start on Monday as announced but new students are placed in long-term courses which have been going on for months. In my group, there were people who had been in that course up to a couple of months. Also, possibly due to the summer period, the teachers changed several times. One for standard lessons, one purely for grammar and another for conversation. This is actually an advantage, because each teacher has a methodology and an accent and different aspects of the language are perceived.

I really liked the quality and thoroughness of the teaching. I was in the C1 level class and the teacher often tailored the lesson to each student's needs provided that we had a smaller class size at the time.

The school could have had a library of books available for students to read.
Insider tip: You can request a student ID from the reception. You can use this student ID to get a university card from "Studierendenwerk" which gives you access to discounts in the university "Mensa" food halls.

I liked the location, near the old town, shopping centers and a large bus station. The city of Heidelberg itself is also very interesting. I liked the host family too.
Insider tip: Try to arrive at the beginning of the course, because otherwise you will be placed in a group that has been studying for a while. If you choose accommodation at a distance of 40 minutes from school, keep in mind that you will be accommodated in the suburbs, and most school activities will not be available to you, since there is almost no public transport in the evening and on weekends.

I like the organisation, school staff and teacher. Not all student rooms had air condition (this summer with +37 in the shadow it was quite critical).
Insider tip: If you are an adult - it's better to study on during the summer holidays.
Review details
Quality of teaching / language progress: Too many students per group and the dynamics of the lessons is not very high. I'd recommend to separate teenagers and adult groups. Teenagers are cool, but they don't pay for their education themselves and don't really value the time. And, please, more exercises with speaking.
Other comments I definitely recommend F+U to other students!

Insider tip: For your money, you have the right to decide for yourself what you need and demand the provision of appropriate quality services!
Review details
Quality of teaching / language progress: Was twice at premium courses. Both times the teachers gave what I needed. Each has its own pros and cons in teaching: the first time they devoted a lot of time to speaking (!), And the second time they hardly spoke, they just listened to the teachers and sorted out the grammar. Replacing teachers (at the time of the absence of the main one) did not suit me at all, especially Klaus (time and money down the drain). She took private lessons from Korina. I was very pleased !!! It is also not clear by what criteria the test is conducted at the end of the course. They give so little time that there is no time for reflection and correction ... Only you have time to read the assignment (((Well, of course, a low test score is not a reason not to transfer the student to the next course. This may only be recommended!
Other comments In general, the school is quite happy (if you do not forget about your rights!). I plan to return for the third time)

Quality of teaching / language progress: Overall it is an enjoyable experience to be in the C1 class of this institute, the administration staff is very helpful for arranging student activities and handling cases about accommodation. For buying course materials, I think the school can provide book list for prospective students prior to beginning of the class, and the option of on loan or buying a new set should also be stated clearly.
