The school is very well organized. The language test at the beginning of the first day of school was carried out individually after completing a scheme, and I was then integrated into the right group. The teacher made the lessons varied and conveyed the subject matter very well. I felt very comfortable and would visit the school again at any time. Many thanks for the very friendly contact and the great help of the "languagecourse.net" staff. They processed my last-minute request quickly and professionally. Overall, I had a very nice week in Milan.

The school is very large and access to various courses is very well shown! ... The staff is welcoming and is informing well if necessary. I could call Canada without any problem from the reception! ... I really liked our teacher Claudio!
Insider tip: I believe that the daily trips made me feel less lonely : where I was staying, I was the only student and I would have enjoyed being with others. But the house was very pretty and I had a lot of space for me!

An authentic immersive experience where you learn because you learn Italian in the most organic, comfortable and natural way. Of course, the important thing is to participate as much as you can in trying to have a conversation.

Nothing, we will have to be aware that it is very hot in Milan in summer. You have to go light enough because although the metro stop is close, you still have to walk in the sun, but the school is excellent :)

Communication with staff prior to the course. Specially with Anna. Location of the school top. Accommodation arranged by the school was also great: good apartment in a working-class neighborhood 5 minutes from the metro.
Disliked
The elevators were too small, climbing stairs to the third floor was not for everyone. Therefore it could take too long before you could take it. He was also out of action one morning. The coffee was not good. The tables in the classroom were not sufficient: too small.

Quality of teaching / language progress: I was self-taught to the point class began, and had not formally studied conjugations. So those exercises left me behind a little. But I was there to practice speaking and listening and classes were filled with those opportunities.

Other comments The worst language school I have been to in Italy. The organisation was rubbish. I arrived at the designated time to do my level test, which took an hour out of my 3 hours of classes (that’s 4 lessons, each 45 minute lesson called ‘an hour’, by the way, although this was expected and usual for large cities...) only for the enrolment officer to decide that it was all unnecessary because in April I had been to the sister school in Florence. Waste of time. The maximum class size was 14 (which is already too large) and our group had 16 enrolled, apparently okay because not everyone came every day. Unacceptable. The facilities are not comfortable. There are no desks, instead those ‘chair/desks’ that you find in lecture theatres sometimes in universities. They are not well adapted to spending long periods writing, which unfortunately we did. I enrolled on the ‘Dolce Vita’ course so that I would have the opportunity to meet other mature students (I know that there are fewer at my level of Italian, as few persist to B2, let alone beyond). This course is a specific fortnight 3 or 4 times a year. There was a test on the first Thursday, a test of the end of the 6 week module that long term students had been studying! Another waste of time. But, worse, the test was marked in class, one by one with the student sitting next to the teacher! So we not only lost most of Thursday to the test, we also lost an hour on Friday! Why organise a fortnight of activities for people who are most likely studying for pleasure to coincide with a test week? Poor planning. Conclusion: If you are studying for pleasure or enrolling for a short time (less than a month), DON’T enrol in this school.

Questions and answers about Scuola Leonardo da Vinci

  • We have a "family experience" course which allows students from 12 years old to attend group courses together with a parent/relative, since the student is only 10, it would be better taking private tuition rather than a group course (since we have students from 16 years old), as he may not feel comfortable without students of the same age.
