Location: Embassy Junior Centre Thatcham is a junior summer centre located in the English town of Thatcham. housed within Downe House boarding school, these junior programmes have outstanding facilities set on expansive grounds in the English countryside. Thatcham is around a 90-minute journey by car or a 150-minute journey via public transport, to the west of London.
School facilities: The school facilities include everything a junior student may need to feel comfortable away from home, whilst within an international environment. There are several communal and sporting facilities to assist students in interacting with their international peers. Such facilities include basketball and tennis courts, an indoor sports hall, a large indoor swimming pool, a garden, and more.
Course selection: These summer camps are available to junior students aged 10-17 years. The programmes are fully immersive, including accommodation (full board), tuition (15 hours per week), activities and excursions.
Accommodation: Accommodation is on-site in residence, within shared rooms with shared bathrooms. Communal spaces include a dining room, a lounge, laundry facilities, a garden, and bathrooms.
Arrivals and departures: Students are received by a driver at the airport and transferred to and from Downes House on arrival and departure. The school is within 75 minutes and 150 minutes form all London airports.

Nationals from USA do not require a visa to study short term courses up to 180 days. A valid passport and an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) is required to enter the UK. The application for the ETA is done online https://www.gov.uk/guidance/apply-for-an-electronic-travel-authorisation-eta. The answer is expected within 3 working days, costing GBP 10. The ETA allows multiple entries in the country for up to 6 months for a maximum of 2 years or until the passport used when applying expires.
