Location: Select English Summer Centre - St Andrews College Cambridge is located in the student-friendly and historic city of Cambridge, England. Housed within St Andrew's College, the junior summer camps are centrally located and within walking distance of many eateries, links to public transport and attractions such as Cambridge University Botanic Garden, the Fitzwilliam Museum, the University Museum of Zoology and much more.
Course selection: Course selection is diverse, with the standard Summer camp options being available with several additional subjects such as Science or Football.
All immersive junior summer programmes are inclusive of tuition, accommodation (homestay/residence, full-board), afternoon and evening activities, and excursions.
Many programmes contain both Drama and Project classes, to prepare some form of show, guide to Cambridge, a school magazine, etc.
Accommodation: Accommodation is available in homestay and residential venues. Room types vary between single and twin rooms, subject to availability.
Social and cultural: These programmes are filled with social and cultural activities and outings for all students to enjoy and get to know their international peers.
Activities may include sports and games, punting on the River Cam, college and museum visits, craft activities and more.
Excursions may include trips to Bury St Edmunds and London.
Getting around: The school is a short 5-minute walk from Cambridge's central train station and is around 30 minutes from Cambridge International Airport via public transport.

“I particularly enjoyed the activities and being made to feel so cared for and welcomed. I met so many new people that I am still in touch with and everyone was keen to get to know each other, which contributed to a great atmosphere. The programme makes you find like-minded people. The staff were also friendly and engaged with us young people, as many of them are relatively young too.”
“What I liked less was that the learning consisted mostly of group discussions. I missed writing and sometimes the teacher didn't give us any assignments for a long time (she corrected our diary entries that we wrote at the beginning of the lesson) and the rest of us had to sit and chat. The pick-up for the return journey also felt rather inefficient: you were picked up eight hours before the flight departure, yet it was just right.”
Insider tip: “Make sure you eat fruit and veg when you can, because otherwise you'll get mostly bread. In general, just be yourself, because no one is more interesting than you and no one will be offended by you taking the initiative to start a conversation, believe me!”

Visa Documents
Nationals from USA do not require a visa to study short term courses up to 180 days. A valid passport and an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) is required to enter the UK. The application for the ETA is done online https://www.gov.uk/guidance/apply-for-an-electronic-travel-authorisation-eta. The answer is expected within 3 working days, costing GBP 10. The ETA allows multiple entries in the country for up to 6 months for a maximum of 2 years or until the passport used when applying expires.
