What our students said about Cardiff

An exciting city, there is a lot to see and experience. There are also sights outside Cardiff that can be reached quickly. The people are very friendly. Unfortunately, the city is very dirty.

Glan-y-Llyn is not Cardiff. Why do you ask me about Cardiff? I like this little town.

What language school directors said about Cardiff

Shoko Doherty

Cardiff is a great place to live and study. It offers everything you would expect from a capital city with world-class entertainment, historical sites and excellent shopping, while still being one of the cheapest places for students to live in the UK.

Shoko DohertyDirector of Celtic English Academy, lives in Cardiff since 2004

Celtic English Academy

Simple and uncomplicated enrolment. The teaching staff were committed and you could always ask questions during the lessons. Good location, good lesson timetable. Please bear in mind that 2 weeks is too short to give a meaningful assessment.

Information about Cardiff

Why Cardiff? Cardiff has embraced its new role as the capital of Wales (since just 1955) with vigour, and has emerged as one of Britain’s leading urban centres. Spread between an ancient fort and an ultramodern waterfront, compact Cardiff is probably one of the most interesting cities in the UK and boasts many shopping malls, national museums, thriving pubs, bars, live-music venues and global sporting events. At first glance, the city seems a very unlikely place to find history what with all of its sophisticated and modern architecture, but in the midst of the urbanisation, Cardiff's ancient past is grandly displayed in the form of more than one very fine castle. Cardiff also makes a great base for day trips to the surrounding valleys and coast, where you'll find more castles, beaches and ancient monuments.
