With certified teachers coming from a wide variety of Chilean backgrounds and cultural experiences, Escuela has a clear edge when it comes to Spanish language education
Packages: The school offers both group and one-to-one courses for students looking to study Spanish in Chile. Packages that include accommodation with options for homestays with host families are available. Courses range from general to super intensive and target learning according to the speed and goals of the students.
Cultural programmes: The school emphasizes learning Spanish and students are expected to converse in the language as much as possible. Furthermore, students are encouraged to explore, make friends and socialize in order to optimize their education. It also offers tons of adventures, activities and trips that add to the appeal of its courses and make learning Spanish a rounded experience. Having students speak in class is a core aspect of Escuela Bellavista’s methodology. That's why there is a maximum of just eight students in a group class, who are separated by levels after being evaluated on the first day with a placement test.
Apart from teaching all the traditional aspects of learning a new language such as reading, writing, listening and speaking, the lessons also incorporate themes related to Chilean culture in order to speed up all of the international students’ integration.
Every lesson lasts for 45 minutes.

Special note for 2025 holiday season: If you plan to take a course during the high season months of April, June, July or August 2025 we urgently advise you to book as early as possible. In 2024 many schools were fully booked during the holidays and the situation is unlikely to be different for 2025 due to a current shortage of teachers, which affects most schools.

“Classes and teachers were a lot of fun! Focused on grammar, but because of the group size (four people) and level (intermediate) we also got to practise talking quite a lot and could do everything in Spanish, without translating.
I think one of the students was frustrated though (or I'd be if I were him) because he had been at the school for several weeks already and studied at the same level the same material already once. This affected the others too, to some extent at least, there was pressure to advance and not perhaps go so deep into things that were unclear.
The number of activities was a really nice bonus!”

It's obvious they take a personal interest your effort to learn Spanish to make sure you get the most out of your classes. The atmosphere was quite extraordinary. The administrator and all the teachers were very friendly, efficient and professional - and they all appeared to be friends between them. It seemed like we were all one happy family. Also, the afternoon and night activities (city walk, salsa lesson, making pisco sour, conversation class) were great. “I think the programme was not as structured and demanding as I would have liked. We spent too much time on the same few grammar notions. Also, I thought there would be an evaluation test upon arriving but I was automatically put into a beginner’s class. I had to show what I had done the previous week in another school to be reassigned to a stronger class. Even then, I did not learn much during the week (academically speaking) but I liked the teachers, the group and the discussions so much that I appreciated the experience and really enjoyed my week at Bellavista.”
