Location: Waikato Institute of Education is located in Hamilton, in the Waikato region of New Zealand's North Island. The school is right in the centre of the city, surrounded by cinemas, shopping malls, food courts, restaurants, bars, cafés and all that a student may need to have a comfortable and enjoyable time whilst in Hamilton. The Hamilton Transport Centre and City Library are just a few moments away, with peaceful river paths, scenic gardens and lake circuits also all within walking distance.

Course selection: The school has a vast number of courses available and takes into consideration the sports, activities and professions that are popular locally. General English programmes are available over a variety of schedules and intensities, with optional combination programmes including activities such as Rugby, Horse Riding, Dance, Golf and Surfing. Courses for Professionals in Business, Aviation, Nursing, for Doctors, Au Pairs, Electronic Engineers and Early Childhood Educators, are just some of the professions supported throughout the year. Exam Preparation Programmes for several exams take place throughout the year (IELTS, FCE, CAE, OET), as well as a speciality course for NZCLT (New Zealand Certificate in Language Teaching).

School facilities: The Waikato Institute is well equipped for students to study in a motivated and comfortable environment. All classrooms have air conditioning, heating and ample natural light to create an optimal learning environment.

  • Regarding the test, we offer free placement tests on students’ first day at school. Student needs to pay for a test only once they request to do a pre-test. Please be advised that WIE have all levels (from beginner to advanced) English courses and can meet all level students’ needs. The pre-test is not a part of the entry requirement.
