The Teacher Refresher Course is designed for non-native English teachers who wish to recharge their methodological batteries while improving their English language skills. Trainee teachers will explore new methodologies and different approaches to teaching the English language. This course consists of seminars and lectures, workshops and brainstorming study sessions as well as communicative and practical-solutions sessions. It is perfect for teachers who would like to take home lots of practical ideas, solutions to classroom management issues and hands-on activities and implement them in their own teaching back home.

This is a course for Teachers who want to learn about the most important aspects of the Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) approach.
Participants will observe examples of good practice, will participate in lectures and workshops and will analyse up-to-date information about relevant and updated development of CLIL implementation in education. Practical ideas for classroom management and instruction, teaching techniques, lesson planning and materials development will be applied to a variety of subjects across the curriculum.
- Develop an understanding of the principles behind CLIL and its implications
- Develop their knowledge of the CLIL methodology
- Identify the language demands of their curricular subjects
- Consider methodology, lesson frameworks, teaching strategies and skills for use with CLIL
- Evaluate, adapt and design materials for language learning in a CLIL subject
- Share best practice and ideas from the participants’ teaching and learning context
- Adapt materials and design activities to support their students in their CLIL learning
- Plan and deliver CLIL lessons with confidence
- Support colleagues in CLIL teams to implement a cross-curricular approach to content and language integrated learning
