Neo-realism and its influence on film-making around the world. The seventies and social commitment. Nanni Moretti and Paolo Sorrentino, two examples appreciated in Italy and the world.
Italian through Architecture
The course looks at the artistic and architectural marvels of the city. Students will learn about these marvels in class and via guided walks around the city.
The course analyses the artistic and architectural testimonies of the city, which, more than any other in the world, is a veritable open-air museum: Rome.
From 753 A.D. up until today: via walks and colour slides, students learn about “visible” architecture (buildings, churches and park) as well as “invisible” architecture, made up of priceless empty urban places: the most beautiful squares in the world. You will trace the lives and works of the most important architects of the past and present who have left indelible marks on the lives of Roman people: you will talk about ancient history, medieval history, the Renaissance, the Baroque period and the contemporary period. The various architectural styles will be compared and each student, using the tools they prefer, will choose a monument, an area, a church, or a building to produce a little photographic and theoretical research about it.

Reviews by former students who attended a Italian & Culture course in Rome
Excellent location. Dynamic and friendly teacher. Nice mixture of teaching methods. Nice mixture of ages in the class. Good text book.
I’m not sure it has been very well thought out about fitting in students who are only there for a short period.
The school badly needs a room where students can study especially as the teaching day is so short.

Good teachers with pleasant teaching style, in which you are maximally encouraged to speak the new language yourself. The school is located in a nice building with ample outdoor space with terraces. The 50 plus programme is great fun
At the club you can get good coffee and lunch inexpensively
