English For Academic Purposes (EAP)
The EIAP program is a course aimed at preparing students for studying in an Academic context such as university, as well as familiarizing them with the IELTS test. It combines all the skills of both the Academic and IELTS requirements through a communicative course.
Students work on all skills, Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening equally, through accessing the various parts of the IELTS test, in addition to studying their Academic counterparts, using activities such as debates, giving presentations, critical thinking, referencing, listening to lectures, reading academic texts for main ideas as well as detail, and looking at cultural differences when studying in a tertiary course in Australia.
The course aims to build knowledge, interest and confidence in students so that, depending on their needs, they can gain the test score they require, or transition to an Australian higher education institution smoothly.
The EIAP course is broken into 4 week blocks, with regular assessment being a part of the teach – test – feedback – review cycle.
