Price comparison: 1 week Afternoon English course
General English - Early Afternoon (12)
This is a part-time course that takes place in the early afternoon.
The school's General English classes are based on the communicative approach. This means there is a strong focus on speaking and listening skills, as well as reading, writing, pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary.
Because the classes are learner-centred, you are given the opportunity to practise everything related to language with students from all over the world. The school's Academic Team select relevant and interesting coursebooks that change each term (12 or 13 weeks for full-time courses and 25 weeks for part-time courses) to ensure you receive a variety of language input.
General English Afternoon
The classes are small (on average 8-12, with a maximum 15), and are of mixed nationality, ensuring all students have maximum opportunity to communicate in English.
Nacel English School London teachers are carefully selected, appropriately qualified, dedicated professionals, who collectively have a wealth of knowledge, experience and expertise.
The most up-to-date course-books, materials and resources are used for teaching, in conjunction with a comprehensive Nacel English School London language and skills syllabus for each level.
The teachers also try to incorporate the latest, most effective teaching methods in their lessons, while maintaining the school's all-round, comprehensive approach of developing and integrating students’ pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar; as well as their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.
Part of Nacel's teaching methodology is to place particular importance on improving the students’ communication skills of listening and speaking. The school stresses the importance of the teacher-student relationship by, for example, teachers ensuring students receive individual attention in class; and through monthly tutorials for each student to discuss their continuously monitored progress. Teachers also place particular importance on individualising the feedback provided when monitoring students’ class work and checking daily homework.
Students’ academic progress is continuously assessed, and they are also given regular level tests to ensure the appropriateness of their courses and lessons.
School certificates and reports are issued at the conclusion of all courses, stating the student's achieved level and detailed language ability.

The Semi Intensive Afternoon classes begin at 14:00 and finish at 17:15. There is one 15-minute break, at 15:00.
The afternoon Semi Intensive classes includes two Booster Classes and 2 hours General English structured class time. This construction allows students to choose two Booster Classes, each with a different skill focus.

The Semi Intensive course is great for students that are looking for the standard 3 hours of study with an included, additional Booster Class. Students can choose from a range of Booster Classes and select the class that best suits their needs. Examples of Booster classes include focus on Conversation, Pronunciation, Writing and many more.

The Semi Intensive classes are great for students who would like to balance study and leisure with a focus on key areas.
This class is available all year round and students can start on any Monday.
The Afternoon Semi Intensive classes give students the opportunity to enjoy free time in the morning. Therefore, students can continue studying by themselves or travel around London during the morning.
Standard Course 10
The Standard 10 hour Course offers 2 hours of structured English class time per day. Thereby, resulting in 10 hours per week. Students can only study the Standard 10 hour Course in the afternoon. The classes begin at 15:15 and finish at 17:15.
This is a great course for students looking to improve their English, but who do not have the time or the energy to study more intensively. At Rose of York, they understand that life can get busy and we do not always have the time to do what we want or need. The Standard 10 hour Course is great for students who would like to balance study and leisure. Moreover, if a student works morning shifts, the Standard 10 hour Course allows for a more flexible timetable.
With plenty of free time in the morning, students also have to chance explore the centre of London and beyond. Additionally, students have the chance to participate in the social activities programme. Living and studying in London gives students a great opportunity to put the language they learn in class into practical use. At Rose of York, they believe in practical learning whereby students are encouraged to explore London and give recommendations.
Please note that students travelling to the UK on a study visa cannot study the Standard 10 hour Course. Students on a study visa must study a minimum of 15 hours per week (equivalent to the Morning or Afternoon Standard 15 hour Courses).
