Price comparison: 1 week General Italian course
Standard Course
One of the most appealing features of the Standard course option is that the total number of students per class is a maximum of 8, and in many cases there are less students than the maximum permitted. This allows every learner to participate easily in their lessons, without feeling overwhelmed, and also allows the teaching staff at Academya Lingue to get to know every student and their needs.
There are two parts to every class, with the first part being concerned with the more formal aspects of learning a language, such as grammar and vocabulary. The other part is more oriented towards Italian culture, current events, and related topics. During the break time for the lessons, the teacher and students go to a local cafe together, which is a fun opportunity to speak in Italian with the other customers taking their morning coffee.
The classes are few in number and the average number of students for each class is around 4-8. The small class size guarantees special attention for each student’s individual needs, and enables teachers to get to know their students as individuals and facilitates friendly relationships.
The daily Italian lessons consists of two parts: the first part of the lesson is mainly focused on grammatical structure and vocabulary, whereas the second part is dedicated to the use of the Italian language (speaking, reading, listening and writing), focusing on expression and communication (current events, Italian culture, lifestyle, and other topics of interest will be discussed during this part of the lesson).
The course has a mid-morning break when students and teachers go to a coffee-bar together: a wonderful chance to practice Italian with the locals, have a chat and get to know each other better.
Italian Language & Culture
Includes cultural activities in the afternoons.
This is an ideal way to enjoy learning and have full benefit from practising your skills and interacting with other students. Your teacher will give you clear guidance and many opportunities to communicate effectively in Italian through a range of activities. They will work with you as a group, in pairs and individually, making your classes even more varied. Because of the small size of the groups, teachers can give personal care and attention to each student. This allows you to gain maximum benefit from the time available through intensive exposure to all aspects of the Italian language.
Each Koinè school also offers a varied program of social and cultural activities in the afternoon, including effective insights into the Italian way of life.
To all those students who can spend several months in Italy and give solid foundation to their language skills while improving the knowledge of the Italian culture, the school offers a 3, 6, 9 or 12 months program in the frame of the Italian Language and Culture Course.
Intensive Course
The Intensive Course consists of 25 lessons of 45 minutes per week in a group (23 lessons in the classroom plus 2 lessons for the test and curricular exercises). The courses are convenient in cost-benefit. Practical communication courses enable students to reach a solid grasp of the language in a short time. You learn to use the Italian language, how to speak and understand, as well as to read and write.
The first part of the Italian lesson is devoted to the language structure, the use of grammar and vocabulary. The second part of the lesson is dedicated to Italian language expression and communication. This second part of the lesson is most effective when done in Italy where the total immersion creates the necessity to understand and to be understood in Italian. Learning just grammar and vocabulary can be done without ever coming to Italy.
Class schedule Intensive Italian language courses are held in the morning from 9:00 to 12:20, or from 10:50 to 14:10, or in the afternoon from 12:40 to 15:50, all with 20-minute coffee breaks.
One afternoon conversation lesson is provided once a week for all levels. Language classes are usually in the morning, in order to help the students’ concentration. Lower level classes are in the morning, intermediate and higher classes are in the late morning or afternoon. Less concentration, but more sleep in the morning!
After the lessons After classes there is a programme of visits, walks, meetings, aperitivos and events all around the city enabling students to meet and chat with Italian people outside of school.
Intensive Course
20 general Italian lessons + 3 additional lessons (2 afternoons Tuesday and Thursday): 1.5 lesson of grammar workshop + 1.5 lesson of conversation or phonetics per week.
The grammar workshop is a complementary lesson where students focus on specific grammar topics, especially designed for and divided by indicated levels. With this extra class, students have the opportunity to revise and clarify the grammar they have worked with throughout the previous week. One thematic per workshop!
The phonetics & pronunciation workshop is a complementary lesson essential when learning a foreign language. Teachers often use the school's soundproof laboratory of dubbing and recording. Students get recorded so they can hear their voice and pronunciation in order to correct their mistakes and imperfections.
The conversation workshop is a complementary lesson where students practice their communicative skills through everyday life topics.

The 10 hours of mini group may run from 16:00 to 18:00 in some cases (e.g. high season).
This course is available all year round and is ideal for participants who only have 2 or 3 weeks. Here students have many chances to improve the language faster and also get the opportunity to:
- Ask all the questions about their doubts
- Put in practice everything they have learnt in the morning
- Consolidate the learning immediately
- Study more Italian though different topics and enrich their vocabulary.
Italian for Law
20 lessons General Italian + 5 hours of private lessons.
This course is designed for those students who are already "experts" in the field of law in their own language and who are interested in the language of law in Italian for professional reasons or for study.
Since the law field is extremely broad and cannot be covered in a thorough manner in the few available lessons, students may begin the course by planning with the instructor a programme with a narrower focus on the basis of their needs.
The program focuses on different areas of law, aiming at providing students with the basic vocabulary and professional expressions that are most often used. Since it is held that a dry presentation of vocabulary on the subject matter would be of little practical use, each of the fields will be covered through the analysis of "texts". After identifying the basic technical vocabulary and expressions, the student is helped to assimilate them through targeted exercises and discussions.
