This course is available to all teenagers and is the only course available for teenagers who are not travelling with their parents. It consists of 15 hours of English in a group class per week plus 15 hours of activities in the afternoons and a Saturday day trip.
The curriculum tends to follow a communicative approach with teachers using a methodology that emphasises the use of role-play, situational dialogues, discussion and games to increase confidence and improve fluency. Reading and writing skills also play a part in helping the speaking as they generate and consolidate new vocabulary and grammar.
In order to reinforce the communicative and fun aspect of the programme, there is a performance at the end of the week during which each class sings a song or performs a role-play or sketch and awards are given for the best performance. Teenagers love this chance to compete with each other and show off their dancing, singing and/or acting skills.
Examples of the activities in the afternoon:
- Scavenger hunt around Killarney.
- Kayaking on Lough Leane.
- Gaelic football and Hurling.

The aim of the General English course is to improve the communicative English language capability of each individual, enabling them to function in English with confidence. The students will be in General English language classes with students of other nationalities suited to their level.
The residences are a pleasantly private complex of buildings, well removed from traffic and other noise but with convenient rail and bus links to the city. Residential students will enjoy full board accommodation in single rooms with shared toilet and shower facilities. Each floor has a number of toilets and showers. Students aged between 14-17 will join a STEM camp at Trinity Walton Club, in Trinity College Dublin. They will have the opportunity to expand their scientific vocabulary, as well as to enhance their problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Learners will work in teams alongside STEM experts and engage in activities such as designing mathematical functions; building micro-controlled projects; and having fun with the Laws of Motion.
Students will be accommodated in the Trinity Hall residence in Dartry Road. Accommodation is in single or twin en-suite rooms. Classes will take place on the Trinity College campus, in Dublin city centre. Transport from the residence to the city centre and back is included.
