Munich ratings & opinions
How our students rated their experience in Munich
What our students said about Munich
The city was clean, safe and really easy to get around. It was easy to feel at home in the neighbourhood. There were many cultural activities available, shopping was awesome, giving many options for a range of prices and styles. The architecture, to me, was one of the the most beautiful parts. Munich is also only a train ride away from lakes and hiking in the mountains.
There is a lot to do in Munich. It is a beautiful city but expensive with a lot of construction (roads, U & S-Bahns, etc). Massive mass transit which was sometimes hard to navigate.
It was a nice city with lots to do. You can eat well for little money. Only accommodation is more expensive in Munich.
It’s a very busy city and you must love the noise, I come from a nice and calm place.
All in all it is a beautiful city, a pity about the rudeness of some people.
It is a spectacular city, it is worth visiting.
Super city, I will definitely visit again
Most recent student reviews of language schools in Munich
There were 2 instructors, Jovanna, a female, who was excellent and Rainer, who, although personable, was disorganized and scattered, often making him difficult to follow.
Overall it was a very good experience.

- I'm from Chile. Can I enrol in a 3-week course if I am already in Germany and have a tourist visa?“Yes, a Chilean tourist who is already in Germany on a tourist visa can enrol in a 3-week German course. Tourists can participate in short-term courses without the need for a specific study visa, as long as the duration of the course does not exceed the time allowed by their tourist visa.”Rubén De Haro, LanguageCourse.Net - Aug 26, 2024My level is beginner. I would like to learn German for at least 12 months. Can you please tell me the level I can achieve after 12 months?“As a complete beginner, you will have reached the B2-C1 level after one year. This depends on your native language, your previous knowledge, your motivation during the preparation and follow-up and how you integrate yourself in Munich in your free time. Accommodation with a host family and German friends and acquaintances will make it easier for you to use and consolidate the language outside of class.”Sabine Krafack, LanguageCourse.Net - Oct 31, 2023Is it a good idea to rent a bike in Munich? If so, do you have any tips for this?“Yes indeed, cycling in Munich is a very good and enjoyable way to explore the city. You could check out Swapfiets if you are going to Munich for a longer period of time. ”Anja Rau, Pedagogic Coordinator from Carl Duisberg - Sep 28, 2023I am looking for a school in Munich that offers a Telc B2 preparation course. Which school do you recommend?“For Telc B2 preparation courses, we recommend BWS Germanlingua or the DID Institute. For a particularly efficient learning progress, it would be advisable to choose a combination of standard course and Telc preparation course. This will help you get your certificate quickly! ”Lisa Schiwy, LanguageCourse.Net - Mar 24, 2023Can I do an internship in one of your schools?“If you are interested in an internship in one of our partner schools I recommend you contact them directly to see if there are any opportunities available at the moment.”Louise Granath, LanguageCourse.Net - Nov 08, 2022
FAQ - Frequently asked questions about German courses in Munich
- As a student, can I travel for free in Munich? And is there a public transport card I can purchase somewhere?“Carl Duisberg has informed us that for public transport, they recommend a weekly or monthly pass for the M area. You can buy these at a vending machines in the metro. Unfortunately, there are no discounts for students. For more information, check out the Munich public transport website.
Furthermore, there are also a lot of people who choose to get around by bike, so I recommend you also look into the possibility of renting a bike. Personally, I always find that the most fun, as you will immediately get to know the city much better.
