- Do not offer favorable cancellation terms in the case of a student getting a visa rejected.
- Lessons are 45 minutes long, which is shorter than in other schools.

Location: Estudio Sampere Cuenca is located in the Ecuadorian cultural capital of Cuenca. The school is housed in between the old and new parts of the city, in a 20th-century red brick building overlooking the Tomebamba river. Estudio Sampere Cuenca is surrounded by beautiful buildings and has many attractions such as the Puente Roto, the ruins of Pumapungo and several museums close by. There are also many shops, gardens, restaurants and supermarkets in the area, ensuring that students have all they may need to feel comfortable during their time in the city. The Mariscal Lamar International Airport is 3km from the school, permitting all international arrivals and departures to be made with ease.
Course selection: Course selection is varied, with something available for students of all levels. Lessons can be taught in groups or privately, with combination programmes readily available. The school offers Spanish & Volunteering programmes, 4-week Medical programmes for medical professionals who would like to shadow a local doctor, and all-inclusive Travel & Study programmes which allow students to study Spanish whilst travelling through the local mountain ranges and coastlines.
School facilities: The school's facilities offer everything students may need to reach their language goals from a comfortable and motivating atmosphere. All classrooms have ample natural light to create an optimal learning environment. The school also has its very own garden and offers free coffee and WIFI.
Accommodation: Accommodation available through the school includes hotels, homestay and apartments, many of which offer double or twin rooms for students travelling together.
School chain: Estudio Sempere is a family-owned business that has been teaching Spanish to the highest of standards for over 65 years. The group has several schools internationally, including destinations in Cuba, Ecuador and multiple locations throughout Spain.
Staff at Sampere are predominantly native speakers with high levels of experience, qualifications and enthusiasm.
With such a vast amount of experience, Estudio Sampere consistently strives to be at the forefront of teaching and student care, pushing boundaries, methodologies and student interaction along the way. Course selection varies between school locations, yet frequently programmes are available for Senior, Junior and Teachers specifically.

Special note for 2025 holiday season: If you plan to take a course during the high season months of April, June, July or August 2025 we urgently advise you to book as early as possible. In 2024 many schools were fully booked during the holidays and the situation is unlikely to be different for 2025 due to a current shortage of teachers, which affects most schools.

"I loved Estudio Sampere, the teachers, and Cuenca. I met many kind people in the parks, American and Ecuatoriana. I keep in contact with them.
My host family took me hiking and out after dark for Corpus Cristi. Cuenca loves dogs, and I could relate to that. My hostess sat with me while I ate breakfast and dinner every night. I wandered into shops and restaurants after class and everyone gave me the time of day. "

Quality of teaching / language progress: I loved Estudio Sampere, the teachers, and Cuenca. I met many kind people in the parks, American and Ecuatoriana. I keep in contact with them.
My host family took me hiking and out after dark for Corpus Cristi. Cuenca loves dogs, and I could relate to that. My hostess sat with me while I ate breakfast and dinner every night. I wandered into shops and restaurants after class and everyone gave me the time of day.
Other comments My teachers moved me down a few levels, but it was ok to review. I resolved confusions and left more confident. It didn't matter that I was an older student.

"It was a perfect match - we were about the same age. My hostess gave the best hospitality and her home was so beautiful and comfortable. Her cooking was so delicious and we had enriching conversations. "

"I could not take a hot shower until I felt comfortable using the family bathroom. The shower in my bathroom only had cold water, so I used wipes, went to the hot springs, and stayed in a hotel the first week.
The food was not interesting so I only ate a simple breakfast and dinner. I ate lunch in a bar or cafe everyday."
