What our students said about Quito

Quito is a city of millions in Latin America, you can't compare it with Europe or Switzerland. The climate is crazy here too, many locals told me that it should be much hotter, I've been freezing for two months, at 20 degrees during the day and up to 10 degrees at night. We felt very safe in Quito over the last two months, there are lots of police in the streets and squares with lots of people. However, you have to follow the safety recommendations, which the school also provided in writing. Do not walk alone at night and only take the necessary valuables with you.

A very beautiful city. There is also a lot on offer culturally. Unfortunately, there is not much going on in the Centro Historico after 6 pm. The nightlife is elsewhere. Basically, I felt safe, but at night you only take a taxi to get from A to B.

The climate is amazing. The steep streets are sometimes tiring to walk, but I never sweated. I found amazing restaurants with great vegetarian options. My rented apartment was beautiful and pristine for a really affordable price.

Loved it! I have travelled extensively. It is safer than most big cities in US, EU, North Africa & near East. Normal precautions: don't be stupid or careless & no issues or concerns. Lovely people, good food, friendly place.

I enjoyed getting to know Quito! After dark, things kind of shut down and it feels much less safe, but I didn’t actually have any problems.

It's historical and has great natural landscapes. Worth the visit but just need to pay attention to the safety (like pick pockets)

What language school directors said about Quito

Patricia de Ribadeneira

Quito is a very safe city, very friendly and easy to know, it has all the facilities of modern life, but it also has the charm of its colonial part, that’s why it is a World Heritage city. It is also in the center of all the tourist regions that can be visited in the country.

Most recent student reviews of language schools in Quito

Ailola Spanish School

I liked it that the teachers are very experienced, had great examples and explanations of the grammars as well as offered enough practice opportunities. They're also flexible to reschedule my classes when I couldn't go for one day. I especially like the activities in the afternoon, basically free of charge (except for entrance tickets & bus) which is definitely the cherry on top. I had great times with other fellow students.
