If you already have an N5 Japanese level or you can read Hiragana and Katakana, I totally recommend JCLI, everything during the class is in Japanese and it makes it more interesting to learn. Also most of the classmates don't speak English, so It becomes an excellent opportunity to really practice and learn Japanese every single day.
Insider tip: Study hard for the initial test the academy makes, it's really demanding and If you get a higher score you will push harder to a higher level group.

Other comments Enjoy the reception and assistant office workers who are excellent at helping - even in English and Spanish (which really worked well for me.) All the teachers and classmates are really friendly and even if you cannot talk fluently with everybody, they will still help you a lot; same goes for every place in Japan.

Quality of teaching / language progress: Very bad school for non-Asian students who can't write kanji and can not learn kanji as fast as Chinese students.

Other comments In my opinion, even if this school offers it, it is not necessarily suitable for one-month courses. They simply put the students in the three-month courses and assume all prior knowledge. In addition, the language level assessment is not necessarily carried out correctly. This is not a problem for longer stays, but I, for example, was in an N4 course and did repetitions for the whole month. The school did not respond to my personal request. Only when Tanja, my advisor here, approached the school, did I get a reaction. Even then I was asked why I "involved" Tanja and that "if need be" I could go to a higher level course. So of course I stayed in mine to avoid complications. So all-in-all: great teachers, super nice classmates, but organization, especially in regard to the course time, not particularly good.

Other comments This school looks amazing but there were many things about this school that destroyed my experience of living in Japan for the first time and going to the school. If you are looking for a school that you can learn well with great peers, kind staff and useful Japanese this is NOT the place! First off the English representative office staff member, Ellena was the rudest person I have met. She honestly does not care about the students’ well-being and only cares about the schools numbers and tells you over exaggerated lies to get you to come to the school. I had to miss some days of school due to personal reasons which were explained to her, not only did she have no sympathy but continued to harass me, insulted my ability to speak my native language and told me I'm ruining my future which was none of her business. Teachers will treat you like a child, taking your phone away in every class, interrogating you about an absence you've already reported. There are many students from countries like Sri Lanka, Myanmar, and Vietnam etc. that just come to Japan on a student visa to work and send money back to their home country. This means they don't care at all about class and will talk and be noisy the whole time. For 6 months my classes were like this. They do not cover speaking Japanese at all so even though students move on to the final level many can't even speak or you can't understand their Japanese. I really would like to warn you about this school, there are fake reviews about this school and there are better places to choose. Don't add stress to your new life in Japan.
School's reply: Thank you, Tabitha, for taking the time to evaluate us, we are really sorry to hear that your experience with us was negative. I'm also sorry for my late reply, I was on maternity leave, and I've just seen your review. I'm truly convinced that we can always improve and I'm wondering where I could have been rude with you or not caring when I sent you dozens of emails to improve your attendance. I would very much appreciate if you could take the time and discuss with me about it. The email address and phone number of the school are the same.

Other comments I would say very dissatisfied with the quality of the courses. It was a beginner courses with no real beginners. All had some notions and the courses were mainly based on writing. I paid 3 weeks of classes for nothing since those who were present had either started learning in their country or "redoubled ". Completely ineffective. Great disappointment. I did not expect so much contempt for the student.
