Positive aspects of school
Very small classes, very pleasant atmosphere.
Negative aspects
Unfortunately, it didn't work out that our teacher from last year taught us as promised. The teacher who taught us this year would have been better suited to more advanced students. She spoke very quickly and couldn't explain very well when we asked about the meaning of a word.

Positive aspects of school
The ambience is lovely - the house is located by the sea, with a view of the sea and the garden, where the lessons also take place. You quickly socialise with the course participants and learning in a small group is fun. It should also be mentioned that Castiglioncello is a lovely little town right by the sea with lots of restaurants and shops.
Negative aspects
The flats are quite simply equipped with the bare essentials. As you are responsible for cleaning, there should be more than just a broom and shovel. Perhaps a hoover per level, a bucket with a cloth for the floor would also be great. The balconies have not been cleaned and there is only one table or chair on them. The seating for lessons in the garden consists of simple garden chairs and tables. I happened to have a seat cushion in the car.
City/place
Very nice little town with plenty of space to relax and explore, including the surrounding area.
Quality of teaching / language progress
Very good

Positive aspects of school
Matteo taught well in the first week despite the difficult circumstances.
Negative aspects
Unfortunately, I was assigned with a beginner in the first week. There were only two of us. It was very tedious.
In the second week, the lessons corresponded to my B1 level. There were only two of us there too.
I don't understand why we have to buy Francesco's book and then get so many copies and hardly work with the book.
There were no activities outside the lessons. I thought that was a great pity. During my last stay 15 years ago, there were many more students and teachers and it was always cheerful, fun and the lessons were better.
The rooms and especially the bathroom in the villa urgently need to be renovated. The mould is unacceptable.
Other comments
Price-performance ratio for these two weeks far too expensive
City/place
It rained a lot, only 3 days of my 2-week stay were actually dry. Nevertheless, Castiglioncello is beautifully situated and offers a lot.

This is an excellent school. I was lucky that I had an exceptional teacher (Alessandra) who really cared about our lessons and our progress. The area is brilliant and the facilities are fine.

Insider tips about what future students should not miss
Attention, on the homepage of LanguageCourse the location of the language school is wrong. That's why we arrived late on the first day. Also, neither Google Maps nor a GPS finds the specified address. The correct location of the school should definitely be visible on the map.

Positive aspects of school
The instructor was great -- supportive, encouraging, fun, and personable. She made it fun and interesting to learn Italian. The group sizes were small (just 3 students and one instructor in my group) which was much better than learning in a large class. The other participants were friendly and the culture of the school was very positive. There weren't a lot of organized activities but students spontaneously self-organized for dinners, which is probably better than a forced arrangement anyway.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
The one-on-one lessons were great and worth the price. There is little or no signage for the school at the castle and the villa is hard to find so find out where you're going before you arrive.
