Location: EC English Toronto is located in the cosmopolitan and forward-thinking Canadian city of Toronto. Housed within Midtown Toronto, the school is close to Eglinton Park, various cafés and restaurants, and the Yonge Eglinton Shopping Mall. With such attractions as Casa Loma, the Royal Ontario Museu and the Ripley's Aquarium of Canada, all within a 30-minute bus ride of the school, students are sure to create many memorable moments in the friendly City of Toronto whilst reaching their language goals. EC Toronto is within a 20-minute drive of Toronto Pearson International Airport, ensuring that all arrivals and departures can be made with ease.

Course selection: Course selection includes General English taught over various schedules and intensities, Academic semester or year programmes, and several courses for specific learning. For all students aged 30+, multiple programmes such as English for Work, and English in the City, are available in exclusive groups of like-aged peers, ensuring that all students find comfort and motivation within their learning environments. Immersive Junior Summer Camps or Day programmes are available throughout the summer months, allowing junior students to embrace the city safely. TOEFL, TOEIC and IELTS Exam Preparation programmes are also available throughout the year.

School facilities: The facilities within EC Toronto are of a very high standard, offering everything a student may need to feel comfortable inside and outside of the classrooms. The school's facilities include a library, a lounge area, a computer lab and a Student Support Desk for any questions or queries that may arise. Classrooms are equipped with electronic whiteboards, air conditioning, heating and ample natural light to create an optimal learning environment.

Accommodation: Accommodation is readily available through the school in local Homestay and Residence facilities.

Generally course material has to be purchased by the student. The costs of course material will be approximately 10 C$ per week.
Comments about courses

EC Canada will now assess the need for a Provincial Attestation Letter(PAL) for students wanting to study in Vancouver and Toronto. This will be on a case by case basis, and students will have to pay a non-refundable admin fee of CAD 110 for a study permit. Additionally, students must pay a 10% deposit for their tuition fee, which will be refunded should their application be rejected.

Students under 18 must book homestay, a return airport transfer and provide a parental consent form. Minors traveling with parents are exempt from these requirements.

High season fee not applicable to bookings longer than 12 weeks.

Additional fees:

  • Bank transfer fee: CAD 40.
  • Student insurance (optional) up to 69 years of age: CAD 30 (per week).
  • Course material is CAD 12 per week (maximum CAD 96).
  • Canadian Custodianship Fee: CAD 150 if requested by Canadian Embassy.

    Students who want to book one-to-one lessons need to book a minimum of two and a maximum of 10 per week in conjunction with a group course.

    Lessons may alternate between morning and afternoon sessions.
Individual classes
Single individual lessons of tuition can be reserved at 155 C$. The combination of group and individual lessons is highly recommended. Individual lessons will encourage you to actively speak the foreign language and will offer you the opportunity to discuss individual problems and weaknesses.
