Information about Urbania
Why Urbania? Urbania is a city found in the region of Marche, a province of Pesaro and Urbino. It is home to the church of the dead, which currently holds 18 naturally mummified bodies, with some believed to be are around 400 years old. Also to be found in the cit,y is the Ducal Palace, which is both a palace as well as a museum and home to the National Library Marciana, with a collection of influential and ancient manuscripts. The city is known for its Befana folk tradition where a hooded woman named Befana visits children on January the 6th, the Epiphany, to gift them with sweets and toys if they are well behaved or a lump of coal for troublesome youths. The city itself is a beautiful sight to behold, with golden coloured buildings and narrow streets, perfect for meambling around.
