In this programme from HLI in Leeds, students take 15 hours of individually tailored classes per week from their teacher while also living in their teacher’s home. The strength of this type, of course, is that you will always have the chance to practise your speaking skills even outside of your class schedule since you are sharing the family home with other people, and whenever you go exploring the city of Leeds you’ll have innumerable opportunities to put your English to the test.
Leeds is a diverse city both in terms of the different demographics that make up the population and also in terms of how many different ways there are to spend your free time. Among some of your options, there is the Leeds Grand Theatre, beautiful green spaces like Roundhay Park, and a vast selection of bars, clubs and other nightlife options.
No matter what you’re into, your host family will tell you the best places to go, which is incredibly useful in such a large city as Leeds. You will be provided with three meals per day, and these are an ideal opportunity to have a chat and catch up with your hosts. HLI stations a Local Organiser agent in the area, to resolve any little problems you might have during your stay.
With this programme, you will be completely immersed in the target language and culture. The private lessons will take place at the teacher’s home and are tailored to your needs and interests. The programme also includes accommodation in a private bedroom (Sunday to Sunday) and 3 meals per day with the teacher’s family.

Standard arrival and departure on SUNDAYS.
Two students with the same language level, sharing the lessons and generally also a room: up to 10% discount, depending on the type of course and the duration of the stay.
If you do not arrive at the airport indicated on your family profile or if you arrive/leave the host family before 8:00 or after 20:00 charges will be increased. A supplement may be charged for late arrival and UM services (unaccompanied minors) if there is a lot of waiting time.
SUPPLEMENTS:
- Any booking which includes Dec 24th, 25th or 26th (Christmas) or Dec 31st or Jan 1st (New Year): GBP 110. If the stay includes both Christmas and New Year, the supplement is charged twice.
- Close supervision (the teacher or an adult member of the family is at home at all times when the student is there): GBP 110 per week. Compulsory for students aged 13 or under, optional for students under 18.
- VIP programme (especially designed for people who would like a superior standard of meals and accommodation and a private bathroom): GBP 400 per week.
- The organisation welcomes students with physical disabilities (such as vision or hearing impairments), emotional or behavioural disorders (such as ADHD) or learning difficulties (such as dyslexia), provided the organiser is notified in advance. A supplement of GBP 110 per week may be applied.
- Airport transfer on Easter Sunday and Easter Monday: GBP 20 extra.
Students must insure themselves against illness and accidents to themselves and third parties.
Students aged 15 and under must book 2-way airport transfers unless they are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
