Venue: Maximo Nivel’s Rainforest-Beach Institute in Manuel Antonio – Quepos is located in a two-story, open-air building in the heart of town. Just 2 blocks from the Quepos bus station, it offers easy access to Manuel Antonio Beach, the National Park, and nearby beaches like Dominical, Jaco, Herradura, and Hermosa. The campus is half a block from the lively Quepos Boardwalk (‘Malecón’) and market, and only a 7-minute walk from the marina. The area is very walkable with plenty of restaurants and coffee shops. Participants live, work, and study amidst local culture and the vibrant beach town atmosphere.
The campus includes 10 classrooms, 3 studio apartments, a swimming pool, snack bar, and on-site travel office, with free WiFi available throughout.
Embodying the Costa Rican pura vida lifestyle, Maximo Nivel’s campus is a great social hub where participants can relax, socialize, and sunbathe. The common areas, featuring a breezy, beachy vibe, include both indoor and outdoor spaces, with some air-conditioned areas.
Course selection: In addition to General Spanish courses, taught over various schedules and intensities and available to students of all levels, Maximo Nivel Manuel Antonio also supplies several choices of combination programmes of Spanish plus activities. Specific subjects include TEFL Teaching Certification, Scuba Certification, Surf School, internships, volunteer work, and much more! There are also fully immersive junior programmes available during the summer for students aged 13-17 years. Medical Spanish and Business Spanish are also readily available all year round.
Social and cultural: The area is ripe with beaches, commercial shopping, a vibrant night-life and coastal rainforest. Many activities and excursions are available in the area, many of which the school is happy to help students arrange.
School facilities: Máximo Nivel Manuel Antonio is housed in a two-storey building with a swimming pool and various on-site social areas. Facilities include indoor and outdoor social spaces, a snack bar, an on-site travel office, and free Wi-Fi.

If you want to commit some of your extra time to learning Spanish but can’t commit to a full-time programme, then the Group 10 Spanish programme with its relatively easy-going schedule of 10 lessons per week could be a realistic option for you. You will work on improving the fundamental skills of learning a second language, including using grammar structures accurately, as well as reading, writing, listening and speaking.
The class sizes are kept small, at just 8 participants maximum, which helps students and teachers to communicate with each other easily and work together efficiently and effectively.
At the start of the programme you will be asked to take a placement test with the school, which will help them determine which group level you should be assigned to. It’s normal and expected that your group may change after a period of time, due to your progress with your Spanish studies.
