English Path Malta is located in St Julian’s, a seaside town in Malta. It is renowned for beaches like Balluta Bay, a rocky stretch with a promenade and restaurants. Spinola Bay has traditional fishing boats, plus Spinola Palace, a baroque mansion with a carved clock centrepiece on its facade.

The school is situated close to everything including shopping centres, a variety of pubs, restaurants, cafes, nightclubs and a bus terminus. There is also a sandy beach, a shopping complex (open 7 days a week), a cinema and a bowling alley nearby.

Liked
I liked that there were no other Japanese students and that we could stay at Campus Hub and participate in activities with almost the same people. The staff came to each room every morning to announce when we woke up, and the meals three times a day were delicious.
Disliked
Although it was not a problem with the school, 6-7 German students were late for class, did not show up, talked privately loudly, mocked others, bothered other students online, etc. The staff called and warned them, but they did not change much. It was a pity.
Insider tip: Please do not hesitate to talk to the staff and teachers.

Other comments My son is delighted with it. I can't thank you enough.

Very good quality teaching, with good workbooks, teaching materials and learning structure. Classes are organized in such a way that there are as few changes as possible between weeks and most of the time the air conditioning is running/functioning
Disliked
Unfortunately, the program was very meager. During the week there was a city trip in the evening and 1/2 trips at the weekend, which were very nice. There is 1 program in the calendar every day of the week, but sometimes it only refers to an event from another provider or, for example, it is the same every week on Mondays. The school is made for learning and unfortunately not for activities. Furthermore, the average age is significantly higher than stated (approx. 25), the gender ratio is significantly more female and most of the students come from Brazil, Colombia, Spain, Japan and Turkey (estimated 80%).
Insider tip: Order the Tallinja Card in advance and have it delivered to the school. Ideally, however, you should do this 2 months in advance and ask after 1 month whether it has arrived and, if necessary, ask again, as there are often problems. Then travel from the airport to the campus for €2.5 and on Monday to the school for €2.5 and then travel for as long as you like with the card, which costs around €30 once (the card is valid indefinitely, for free bus transportation), rather than paying €25 a week for the bus ticket.

Quality of teaching / language progress: I learned a lot in this course, it was a great experience with two different teachers and classes. However, next time I would only take the semi-intensive course and use the other time for self-study and spend time with other students, as you can also gain a lot of experience by talking.
Other comments The staff is very friendly, takes care of every request and takes a lot of time for it. Some of the staff are very young and you can communicate with them at eye level.

Good school, very helpful staff and teachers, I really enjoyed the lessons and classmates (all from different countries).

Unfortunately, one day a week is devoted entirely to a test and this wastes hours of class time. Furthermore, in the classes there are both people staying for a short time and people who have been attending for several months and therefore have different needs.

Questions and answers about English Path

  • All our teachers are accredited via TESOL or CELTA, or TEFL and all have a University degree. Our teachers have different background but all of them are from Europe so the English we teach is in fact British English.
Kathleen & Jose, from English Path St. Julians - Aug 31, 2023
  • We have two books in rotation for our General English classes at English Path:
    • Empower (Cambridge English)
    • Language Hub (Macmillan English)
    Sabine Krafack, LanguageCourse.Net - Aug 31, 2023
  • Most students come from Colombia and Brazil, and about a quarter of the students come from other countries.
Jose, Europe Regional Manager from English Path St. Julians - Sep 06, 2023
  • Yes, a level test is carried out. This is divided into 2 parts:
    - 1st step - an online test is carried out before travelling to the school
    - 2nd step - a short written and oral test is carried out on the first day of school in order to be able to assign the students to the correct level.
Pamela, Adminstration from English Path - St. Julians - Feb 14, 2024
  • There is a cafe on the ground floor of the school building. However, this is a different business. So students are welcome to buy some food there, but we cannot include it in our price.
Nadia Mokhovikova, Senior Business Development Manager from English Path - Mar 08, 2024
  • Full Board options are only available to students travelling in groups during low season and to Young Learners in Summer.

Campus Hub has the following restaurants outside the Pool area:

    - Burger King / Pizza Hut
    - Japanese
    - Turkish (Ottoman)
    - Starbucks Coffee
    - Mexican
    - A supermarket with hot and cold ready made meal options and student discounts available

Most restaurants are open late (from 10:00 to 23:00) and students have plenty of options for meals on campus. I would recommend they purchase meals in the restaurants that are already in Campus Hub as there is a lot of variety.
Jose Russoniello, Europe Regional Manager from English Path - Mar 08, 2024
  • Yes, that is possible. You don’t need to book with another friend, we will match with an EP student.
Jose, Adminstration from English Path, St. Julians - Apr 10, 2024
