This is Don Quijote Academy’s main offering, providing learners with 20 lessons every week, each designed with the intention of getting students actively involved every step of the way. Living and studying in Barcelona will form an integral part of your Spanish immersion experience, and taking 20 hours of classes per week is a fantastic way of taking control of your Spanish language development while also leaving yourself free time.

The approach used in the classroom is geared towards communication skills, and for that reason, your teachers will encourage you to do a lot of speaking. This preference is supported by the course’s maximum class size of 12 participants, as it means you will find yourself in a situation where it’s easy to speak with your peers and teacher.

You will be placed in your Spanish level following an oral and written test that you will take the first day you arrive at the school.

Colegio de España offers its students the chance to improve their Spanish skills in a short period of time. You will study the Spanish language across all areas, including oral communication skills, written expression, and grammar and vocabulary. The ideal profile for Don Quijote’s Intensive 20 Spanish course are those people who want to make significant progress with their Spanish language skills quickly, over a short period of time. Those who take this course will enjoy a fully immersive language experience both in and out of their classroom.

No matter where your Spanish skills currently are, you’ll find yourself assigned to a group that closely corresponds to your level, and with a maximum of 12 participants in every group.

The Intensive Course offers 4 lessons per day, allowing students to combine holidays with language learning. It's ideal for those who want a relaxed language course while experiencing Spanish culture and the Andalusian lifestyle. Students can request ECTS credits for this course, and Erasmus students at Granada University receive discounts.

Each lesson lasts 45 minutes, with a maximum of 8 participants per class, making communication with teachers and fellow students easier.

The Intensive General Spanish 20 course is perfect for those students who want to learn the maximum amount of Spanish in the least time possible. The course consists of 20 Spanish classes every week, that are combined with extracurricular activities organised by the school.

This course is well-suited for those people who plan to study or live in Spain, and need to prepare themselves for communicating in Spanish.

The 20-hour-per-week Intensive Spanish course follows the tried and tested model of working on the main pillars of language learning: grammar & vocabulary, speaking, listening, and writing.

This school believes that particular importance should be given to communication skills when studying Spanish, as a student’s confidence in their abilities is a large factor in how much they will use and therefore expand their skills.

There are groups at all official ability levels (from A1 to C2), and you will be assigned to a group that most closely corresponds with where your Spanish language skills currently are (this can be changed later if necessary).

Most of your classes will take place in the classroom, but you can also expect to be taken out as a group around Barcelona from time to time, as a way of making the learning experience more fun and dynamic.

This course includes Grammar, Conversation and Vocabulary.

There is a small break for a coffee or a soft drink between lessons.

In some weeks for organization of the school, the class schedule might change: 8:30 to 12:20 or 13:30 to 17:20.

If there are less than 3 students, the number of lessons is reduced to 15 lessons per week.

For long term courses (30+ weeks), a student visa is required.

It consists of 10 grammar and vocabulary lessons per week, and 10 conversation, pronunciation, reading and speaking lessons per week.
Students will use textbooks, table games, magazines and interactive materials.

Lessons take place in either the morning or the afternoon depending on language level.

You’ll take a total of 20 lessons every week, which represents a significant amount of stimulation for your language skill development, while also leaving you with some free time to enjoy and explore Malaga.
