North West of the USA, is the state of Oregon. The Snake River follows Oregon's eastern frontier with Idaho. The western coast of Oregon is on the North Pacific Ocean. The majority of the population of the state is on the West coast. Salem is the state capital. Portland is the largest city in Oregon, just below the Columbia River, which separates the state from its neighbour, Washington State. The state has some spectacular landscapes. In the North, close to Portland, is the volcanic mountain of Mount Hood and the Multnomah Falls. In the centre of Oregon is the Smith Rock State Park. Crater Lake National Park is in the South of Oregon.
