Venue: International Language Camps runs its junior language programmes in the ski resort town of Megève in the French Alps, about an hour by car from Geneva. Megève is near Mont Blanc in France’s Haute-Savoie which borders both Switzerland and Italy. Nestled in the mountains, with lakes and forests all around, it is truly an idyllic spot. The town is charming and safe and has everything necessary to ensure that students can be active and carefree.
Experience: ILC has over 25 years of experience in providing summer immersion programmes for children from across the planet. Their aim is to create the best possible environment for future global citizens to meet and learn from people of other cultures while having a fun summer.
Options: Programmes are in French or English, and all students are encouraged by camp monitors to continue speaking their target language throughout the day. There are two study options available, standard or intensive. The intensive programme includes one-to-one lessons in addition to the standard group programme.
Activities: ILC organises a wide variety of activities in two different categories. There are sports like: swimming, water games, fishing, summer sledge, hiking, and even ice skating. And there are artistic and cultural activities such as creative arts, drawing, yoga, calligraphy, and drama. On weekends there are excursions to nearby attractions, like Mont Blanc’s Sea of Ice or Annecy, “the Venice of the Alps”. Students can also add specific sports options and personalise their camp experience with lessons in tennis, golf or rock climbing.
