AAIEP (The American Association of Intensive English Programme)

To be considered for membership, applicants must meet the following requirements:

- be situated in the United States of America;

- be accredited by or be in an organisation that has been accredited by an official accrediting body such as The Commission on English Language Program Accreditation (CEA) or the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET);

- provide a minimum of 18 hours of taught ESL programmes per week for adult students;

- have an employee responsible for the overall running of the ESL programmes to ensure the standard is upheld and student diversity is met with professionalism.

Complaints against the code of conduct of a member school must be sent in writing to the current President or Executive Director of EnglishUSA. The President of EnglishUSA will submit the grievance within 30 days of retrieval to the Governance Committee. They, in turn, will send a report of their evaluation to the Board of Directors in 60 days from the initial submission. Membership can be terminated at this point during the process, if deemed necessary. The Governance Committee's solution will either be implemented or rejected by the Board and the President will inform both parties of the final action.
