Positive aspects of school
The school is in a very good location, with many things within walking distance. There were about 15 of us in the class, which was good for exchange and communication. Everyone was able to get involved in the lessons. In general, I also liked the way the lessons were organized, as it was a mixture of provided exercise sheets, videos and open communication.
Negative aspects
The school put together a calendar for the whole month where you could take part in events. Some of the prices were quite high, as some things were much cheaper if you booked them yourself and not through Kaplan (e.g. Broadway shows, Yankee game).
City/place
New York is a multicultural city where you can see and experience many new things every day. The people are super friendly and helpful. If you are an open person, it is easy to make contacts and meet new people.
Quality of teaching / language progress
The duration of the course of 3 hours per day was perfectly adequate, so you could still use the day for sightseeing.
