How our students rated their experience in St. Petersburg
What our students said about St. Petersburg
St. Petersburg is always worth a trip. I saw the Hermitage, the Aurora ship, the Peter and Paul Fortress. Much more is possible. However, I used some afternoons for homework and deepening the content of the language lessons.
The school's student ID card with special discounts is great. Unfortunately not participated in the nightlife.
I'm a big dude, so people leave me alone, but it is just as safe a city for a single woman to walk around.
A beautiful, attractive city full of vitality and cultural richness. It's great fun to walk around
Wet, cold and windy in winter. Very pleasant from spring to summer
I don't like going out to clubs, but the nightlife is great.
Magic city, I would have liked to extend my stay!
What language school directors said about St. Petersburg
The city of St. Petersburg was founded in 1703 by the visionary Tsar, Peter the Great, who aimed to build a capital to rival the great cities of Europe. With its majestic palaces, wide boulevards and numerous canals, at times you feel you could be in Paris, Vienna or Amsterdam, but ultimately it’s uniquely Russian. While it may no longer be Russia’s political capital, there is no doubt that St. Petersburg remains the country’s cultural capital. The Hermitage is a ‘must-visit’ and houses one of the finest art collections in the world. But that it just one of many galleries and museums, not to mention theatres and architectural gems waiting to be discovered. Although it looks beautiful in the winter snow, during the summer the city really comes alive when the ‘White Nights’ begin and the sun scarcely sets.
If you are interested in Russian culture - the best place to learn the language is Cultural capital of Russia. White Nights is best time to travel.
It is the best architecture and open museum under the air
St.Petersburg nowadays is the second biggest city in Russia which even used to be the capital of the country for two centuries.

Q&A - Questions about Russian courses and schools in St. Petersburg
- How much cash can I take with me when entering Russia?“Under current Russian regulations, students as foreign citizens are allowed to have up to EUR 10 000 in cash without any explanation.
Tip: Exchange your GBP, USD or other local currency into EUR before you leave. EUR notes should be as new as possible and in good condition, as notes that are worn, torn, written on or otherwise marked will not be accepted. It is not necessary to bring small denominations.”Oleg, Director from International Educational Center "ProBa" - Sep 01, 2023Would it be possible to exchange my EUR for RUB in St Petersburg?“There is a bank located near the school. All students use this bank, a very safe business and good exchange rate.”Oleg, Director from International Educational Center "ProBa" - Sep 01, 2023Do I have to pay a deposit and commission when opening a bank account in St Petersburg?“No, there is no deposit and commission. You can deposit cash RUB into your bank account and use Russian cards. All services are free of charge.”Oleg, Director from International Educational Center "ProBa" - Sep 01, 2023As a long-term student, where can I take more EUR if I ever need it?“With an extendable student visa, you can leave and enter Russia several times. So you can easily take a bus to Estonia or Finland at the weekend to withdraw money from an ATM. All borders are open to EU citizens.
Another way to withdraw money from abroad is to use an electronic account. We recommend you open an Advcash account, for example, and link it to a foreign card. Advcash allows you to add EUR to the account and this money can easily be transferred in RUB directly to your Russian card with minimal commission, thanks to the very good exchange rate.”Oleg, Director from International Educational Center "ProBa" - Sep 01, 2023Didn't find what you are looking for?Interested in a specific type of course?
