Location: Trieste Language School is located in the capital city of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region of northeastern Italy, Trieste. A port city, Trieste offers much history and medieval and neoclassical touches throughout. Trieste Language School is centrally located, ensuring students can enjoy the area to its fullest. The school is housed in the historic city centre, within a moment's walk of fascinating sites such as the Trieste Roman Amphitheatre, Piazza della Borsa, Piazza Unità d'Italia, several museums, the port and much more. There are also many amenities, eateries, cafes, bars and restaurants nearby.

Course selection: The school provides a range of General Italian courses which are taught in a group, individually or in combination programmes of both. Group programmes are available to students of all levels, with specific starting dates for complete beginners.

Accommodation: Homestay accommodation with local host families can be arranged via the school and is subject to availability.

There is a very pleasant, relaxed atmosphere at the school, the teachers are all extremely helpful and very competent in the lessons. Marina, who organises everything, speaks perfect German and you can turn to her with any questions. The afternoon excursions were great, sometimes to places that you wouldn't necessarily think of as a tourist. We asked for an osmiza in the first week and Marina had already organised a visit for the second week.
Disliked
The only thing is that the school can only be reached via several steps or a bumpy alley. This could be difficult for people who walk badly, but then another city would be better than hilly Trieste anyway.
Insider tip: Swimming in the city for lunch - in Lanterna and Ausonia.

Quality of teaching / language progress: I had wonderful teachers and learnt a lot in these two weeks.
Other comments The classrooms are pleasant and I particularly appreciated the large table around which everyone sits and has enough space for all the documents. The large table is also very communicative.

Location is magical - right next to a church (classrooms are filled with religious paintings) and kindergarten, very close to city's main square - Piazza dell'Unita. The teachers were engaging, invested and made sure the classess were diverse and entertaining. The whole staff was very kind. Social activities programme was great!

The school is well located, the teachers are for the most part very good, speak slowly and clearly. Which is very advantageous for beginners. The excursions in the afternoons were varied. I can recommend the school to others. If there were any problems or queries, I always received support.
Disliked
I had booked a 2 week language course. Unfortunately, the lessons in the first week did not meet my requirements. After I reported this, the lessons were adjusted. So this "negative" point is also positive again :)

The atmosphere is very friendly, the teachers (I had Silvia and Paola) are very good at what they do: the material is explained very clear to everyone in the class, it is not boring, they have time to pay attention to each student.
Insider tip: Attend all the excursions, it was very interesting.

Other comments Remarkable, I liked everything a lot! The school's supervisor always helped us with everything even if it had nothing to do with the school's programme. Thank you to everyone!

The teachers, especially Anna and Marina, who accompanied and excellently guided the afternoon excursions. They were also always helpful, thoughtful and very patient.
Disliked
It was very cold in the classrooms. However, one could counteract this with warm clothing. (I think it is actually very right that there is no heating in May - if only because of energy saving/environmental protection).
One star less for organisation: On the first day, a lot of class time was lost because many people - including me - still had to pay. Maybe we should have been called in half an hour earlier. Or insist on payment in advance.
I often didn't like the group work because the rooms had very strong reverberation effects, so that I heard the other groups too loudly and sometimes had trouble concentrating. (Possibly also due to my age)
