What our students said about Guanajuato
This is a dynamic, colorful city full of street vendors and at night a fiesta atmosphere. I felt very safe here and admired the well-maintained sidewalks. The ups and downs of the alleyways were a challenge at first. I wish the theaters had been open in February. If I go back, I will try to hit the Cervantes festival in the fall. Climate is great. A little cool at night.
It has beautiful nature, so much history, and an abundance of things to do. I felt safe walking around alone. It's easy to take a bus to Leon, San Miguel De Allende and a lot of other places for a day or weekend trip. It's a very affordable city with an abundance of street food to eat on a budget, but there is also a lot of fine dining if you want to be fancy!
I❤️GTO. Such a beautiful city& in an amazing setting surrounded by mountains and high desert. Always stuff to do! Everything was accessible due to the size of the city. I always felt safe, went where I wanted to and when.
Guanajuato is DRY!!! Pay far more attention to hydration, both internal and external, while you'r'e there, than you might be used to. The city is gorgeous. One of the most beautiful cities I have had the pleasure to visit.
Guanajuato is a dynamic and pleasant city with an ideal night activity for students (without any danger to go out at night) Lots of activities to do, visits, museums, hard to get bored!
Guanajuato is a city rich in history and plenty of things to discover in your free time. Shopping, bars, monuments, dancing ... there is something for everyone.
A city to relax in! I extended by 1 week to 3 weeks and could have stayed even longer. If I can, I would like to come back to Guanajuato for at least 2 weeks.
I compared it to Disneyland, where every day was perfect, all of the people were patient and friendly, and there was always something going on.
Very beautiful city. Please delete the one star for nightlife. I don't know what the nightlife was like here because it didn't interest me.
Beautiful city with many activities and entertainment options. Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) was amazing!

Course: Spanish Intensive Program - 1 week
Student age: 16 years
Its location in the center of Guanajuato and it was also one part of its weakness. I had asked many, many times, a host family in a house where there were not too many stairs. I thought I would die every day climbing the heights of the city, especially with a heart condition. It would have been very interesting if the school could have given a plan of the public transportation system.
The teacher Malvi Moreno is very interesting.

Great teachers, loved the mix of formal grammar and pronunciation with the more casual conversational elements.
Gracias (thank you)!

My teacher, Mali, was careful to build a good foundation. She used several techniques to explain and reinforce concepts. I am at home now and taking tutoring with her online.

Q&A - Questions about Spanish courses and schools in Guanajuato
- Are there any Spanish courses for medical professionals in Guanajuato?“Yes, at the moment we partner with 2 schools which offer Spanish for medical professionals - Spanish Experience Centre and Plateros Spanish School.”Gosia Mazur, LanguageCourse.Net - Feb 08, 2024I was wondering about the availability of classes for adults year-round or on specific dates. Could you please let me know?“In Guanajuato, schools are open year-round and students of all levels can start on any Monday. Let us know what your preferred dates are and we can send you more information.”Ana Carolina Dos Santos, LanguageCourse.Net - Jul 23, 2023I have 2 Mexican/American daughters aged 14 and 16 currently taking advanced Spanish, that need to improve their conversational fluency. Would you have availability and appropriate courses for them?“Yes, we can offer group lessons and private lessons for both of them. The combination of group and individual lessons is highly recommended. Individual lessons will encourage them to actively speak the language and will offer them the opportunity to discuss individual problems and weaknesses.”Manuel García, Admissions Team from Plateros Spanish School - Nov 23, 2022I am a student studying Spanish in Japan, and I am thinking of attending a Spanish programme in Guanajuato. Which is more economical: living in an apartment booked through a language school or staying in a local flat found on my own?“It is possible to make your own accommodation arrangements and book only a course using our service.
There is a wide variety of accommodations in the local area, and some of them are cheaper than those arranged by the school.
However, please be aware that the areas where accommodation is inexpensive are often not the safest places to stay.
If you are familiar with Guanajuato, that is fine, but if you are unfamiliar with the area, it would be very risky to look for an apartment.
Also, since your planned stay in Guanajuato is not long (8 weeks), it would be safer for you to have your accommodation arranged by the school.”Andy Fukutome, LanguageCourse.Net - Nov 18, 2022Other cities often combined with Spanish courses in Guanajuato
