My teacher Lorenzo was simply brilliant, both in the grammar courses and in the conversation. Clear, very good quality teaching, interesting and varied topics in the conversations. One would really like to have such dedicated teachers more often. The number of students, between 5-16, depending on the course and week, of different nationalities (from Japan, Philippines, England, China, Austria, Hungary, Poland, Switzerland, USA, Germany), was an interesting, enriching mixture and exchange.
Disliked
The activity programme on some afternoons is rather limited, only one per week. There is a programme of excursions by a cooperation partner, with correspondingly higher additional costs, to surrounding towns, regions but rather too main-touristy, for my taste. It was a shame that the Scuola Toscana student card could not be used for any discounts in museums, exhibitions, etc. It was rejected everywhere. The city of Florence should really recognise these cards accordingly, especially since the language students are in the city for two to many weeks and visit and explore a lot, spend some time there and live, supporting the local economy and the city.
Insider tip: Visit museums, exhibitions, churches, typical Florentine restaurants and craft shops. Avoid the mainstream. Explore Florence early in the morning and stroll through the city.

Quality of teaching / language progress: Good to manage. A solution booklet, possibly as a download after the course, would be advantageous for revision and review at home. Placement test should be timed, too long a test time distorts the result somewhat.
Other comments Very pleasant atmosphere at the Scuola.

Very good teachers, flexibility (I asked if I could take a week's holiday after four weeks and then add on the week of lessons, which was no problem at all), the girls in the office are very helpful, good teaching concept, school is very centrally located near the church of Santa Croce. On the first day, a tour of the city is offered in the afternoon, which is very helpful for orientation if you have just arrived. Apart from that, there are always interesting activities.
Disliked
The school is in a historic building and let's put it this way, it needs to be renovated (classrooms, toilets...). One thing that could be changed really quickly would be to buy more comfortable chairs for the classrooms. I had 6 hours of lessons every day and after 4 hours my bum started to hurt on these hard wooden chairs!
Insider tip: My absolute highlight was Le Capellee Medicee.
Review details
Quality of teaching / language progress: Very well structured lessons and the 2 hours of private lessons (2 x 60 min) every afternoon were also extremely helpful.
Other comments I would recommend the school without reservation, even if the facilities are a bit outdated.

The school is very good, the quality of teaching and progress is very good. As for the teachers, especially two MARIELLA AND DANIELA are TOP, they do a great job on grammar, conversation and the classes are very fun and easy to understand. They make you progress quickly. The activities and excursions they offer make it a very complete and effective intensive course.
Disliked
I didn't find anything negative, on the contrary, they are fantastic, very well organized and, in my opinion, it is a first-class school.

Quality of teaching / language progress: It's worth it, I will return for a longer course to level up and continue my training at this school.

Our teacher Laura was really great. Her teaching was excellent and she was an extremely likeable person. The lessons were such that I learnt a lot and, thanks to the school's location, I was also able to reach many sights centrally. The school was also very accommodating when it came to postponing our trip twice. Many thanks for that too.

Great teachers who are very committed. Activities three times a week (guided tour of the city, excursion to Arezzo, etc.). There is a really nice atmosphere in the school, tips are given on how to spend your free time and everyone is always ready to help the students. Great insider tips etc.
Disliked
The chairs in (my) classroom were not very comfortable, but that was different in other rooms and is really complaining on a damn high level.
Insider tip: Definitely visit Fiesole and take part in the school's activities!

Quality of teaching / language progress: I had two hours of grammar and two hours of conversation every day, the level was fitting and it was a great experience to converse in Italian with people from all over the world and of all ages.

Quality of teaching / language progress: It was exciting to get to know such different people, even of different ages. I liked the way Daniela always tried to involve everyone equally. There was a bit too much grammar, so that in the second week I felt a bit ‘learning fatigue’. This is more of a personal impression.
