Location: Intensive School of English is an English language school located in the youthful coastal city of Hove, just on the outskirts of Brighton. The school is located close to the city centre and from the beach. There are several shops, eateries, restaurants, and attractions close by. Such attractions include the British Airways i360 Viewing Tower, The Brighton Beach Bandstand, the Hove Beach huts, and the Brunswick music venue. Students of Intensive School of English have much to keep them entertained inside and outside of the classroom. Brighton is around a 60-minute train journey from London and offers easy access to all of London's airports.

Course selection: Course selection with the school is extensive, with something suitable for students of all ages and needs. In addition to courses for young learners and pre-boarding school programmes, Intensive School of English also provides a wide range of Exam Preparation, CELTA and general English courses.

Getting around: The school is housed in Hove and as mentioned, has many attractions and sites of interest within walking distance. The train station is around a 14-minute walk from the school, London being an 80-minute train journey from there, ensuring all international arrivals and departures can be made accordingly.

Social and cultural: In addition to the many pubs and eateries that the area provides, students also have attractions and sites of interest such as the Royal Pavilion, Brighton i360, Brighton Palace Pier, Brighton Beach, SEA LIFE Brighton and much more, to complete their learning with social and cultural interactions.

Additional comment about facilities of school
The primary building has 3 large classrooms and 3 smaller classroom, each with high ceilings and lots of windows. All classrooms have a classroom computer, desks, dictionaries and chairs. We have one classroom with an interactive whiteboard (IWB) and 5 classrooms with flat-screen TV's. The space allows standing, mingling and speaking activities, as well as traditional classroom work. There is a cafe on the first floor and free Internet access with dedicated 50Mb student WiFi.

Comments about courses

ISE offers many courses to help students achieve academic and professional goals.

Classes run from 09:30 to 12:30, 13:30 to 16:30 and 18:00 to 20:00. Class times include a 15-minute break, to be taken at the discretion of the teacher.

Courses start on any Monday, although students preparing for IELTS and FCE Examination courses are advised to start at least 12 weeks before their exam date. General English classes are designed for students of all levels who wish to study English and make recognised progress in speaking, reading, writing, listening and grammar.

We test all students on arrival to find the correct language level, with overall responsibility for student levels falling under the Academic Director. ISE offers classes all year at different levels: students will be taught in either the ISE Brighton branch or ISE Hove branch according to their level, as assessed at the time of enrolment by ISE staff.

    For all classes at ISE there is a maximum class size of up to 15 students. For General English classes there is a minimum age of 16 for our adult classes and a minimum age of 8 for our Young ISE (children) classes.
Individual classes
Single individual lessons of tuition can be reserved at 55 £. The combination of group and individual lessons is highly recommended. Individual lessons will encourage you to actively speak the foreign language and will offer you the opportunity to discuss individual problems and weaknesses.
