Location: Earlscliffe Junior Centre Folkstone is an English language school located in the port town of Folkstone, on the English Channel. The school campus is housed between eight renovated Victorian and Edwardian buildings in the West End of Folkestone. Within walking distance of the school, students have several links to public transport, many eateries, several attractions, and sites of social and cultural interest, including Folkestone Beach!

Course selection: The school offers a range of fully immersive programmes throughout the summer months and the easter holidays. These courses are tailored to the needs of younger learners who may be looking towards studying in further education or broadening their knowledge on topics such as sustainability and society. These programmes include Think Global!, Mini MBA, Sustainable Futures, and Uni Prep.

Social and cultural: The activities and excursions in each course depend on the course chosen, as they are tailored to specific ages and necessities. All programmes will include a good balance of sports, cultural events, arts and crafts, fun games, walks and much more.

Accommodation: All courses include accommodation in a student residence or shared dormitories, all meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner), tuition, activities and excursions.

Getting around: The school has various bus routes and bus stops close by, and is a 10-minute walk from Folkestone Central train station, ensuring that trips to London can be achieved within 90 minutes via train.

Visa Documents

Nationals from USA do not require a visa to study short term courses up to 180 days. A valid passport and an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) is required to enter the UK. The application for the ETA is done online https://www.gov.uk/guidance/apply-for-an-electronic-travel-authorisation-eta. The answer is expected within 3 working days, costing GBP 10. The ETA allows multiple entries in the country for up to 6 months for a maximum of 2 years or until the passport used when applying expires.

Nationals from countries that require a visa will receive documents from the school, related to booking confirmation, which is required for the visa application.
