Durham School of English is a small, family-run language school in the heart of the beautiful city of Durham.

Durham is a historical city located in the north east of England. The city is famous for its cathedral and castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that attracts thousands of tourists every year. It is also well-known for its prestigious university, which is the third oldest university in England, after Oxford and Cambridge. There are almost 18,000 students living in the city, of which 4,500 come from overseas. This helps give the city a vibrant, cosmopolitan feel.

As an English school, we take pride in the quality of our teaching, helping students to develop their general English skills or prepare for the IELTS exam. We also believe that it is important to find opportunities for our students to speak English outside the classroom, which we achieve through our strong links to local businesses and an exciting social programme.
