Cartagena is a city on the coast of the region, which has attractions such as the National Museum of Underwater Archaeology and the Teatro Romano de Cartagena. Cape Palos is a good spot for scuba diving and also has the Calblanque, Monte de las Cenizas y Peña del Águila Regional Park and La Manga. To the West of the region is the city of Lorca, known for the Castle of Lorca, a medieval structure.
