Cantabria is a northern province in Spain, sitting on the coast of the Bay of Biscay. The provincial capital city is Santander, found in the North of the region. Santander features the Centro Botin, Playa del Sardinero and Palacio de la Magdalena. Cantabria has some interesting cultural underground structures throughout the province including the cave paintings in the Cave of Altamira and the extensive cave system in Cueva El Soplao. There are great hiking routes in Parque de la Naturaleza de Cabárceno and skiing options in Alto Campoo, a ski resort in the south of the province.
